Could they be competitive against the marlins? Not win but hang with them?

Of course they could. Hell, they could probably win one out of a series - it wouldn't surprise me in the least with some of the arms in the league this year.

They could probably beat them in a single game but definitely not a series. As long as you have somewhat similar talent, anybody can beat anybody in Baseball in a single game.

Which is why the one game wild card in the MLB is so stupid.

In a series I would bet money the sec team would win 1.

Not even close. Who are you fooling? Any nfl team would beat an sec allstar football team. Same with baseball or basketball.
Probably wouldn't even be close.

mostly if not all of the top ball players in the SEC have to go through the A leagues just to get to the MLB. The talent gap is way too large. Not to mention the adjustment to wooden bats. The pitchers are throwing everything the top sec pitchers + a little extra with better coaching

This. Basketball and Football would easily be blow outs.

the only difference is that the MLB has a more thorough screening process to get to the pros. Not saying a freak athlete can't pop up and destroy, but MLB pitchers compared to top SEC pitchers is night and day

All I know is, an SEC all-star team would fare far better than any other conference all-star team.

all it takes is for a pitcher to be on and throw a 2 hitter, and a walk and a double and you have your win.

This is not the reason....hell the Stros and Marlins are fielding high AA team as we speak

I think this is the reason.....These turn good college hitters into sissies very often.

I think basketball is by far the best chance for college to beat pro. All-star team of college players could be competitive on a nightly basis with bad NBA teams. Not even close in the other two sports, much less nightly/weekly.

I don't think so. There's a bigger gap between CBB and MLB then there is CFB and NFL. The better players go to a farm team out of high school often.

In baseball, they would be VERY lucky to win a game in a series. In football, a SEC all-star team could maybe squeek out a victory. If we didn't suck so bad in basketball, I would say we could beat a BAD NBA team. A Big East or ACC all star team I could see.

Not at all man. With that being said I think the marlins would sweep.
