See what Nick Saban thinks of the Big Ten movement away from games against FCS teams
quote:

“I’m for five conferences – everybody playing everybody in those five conferences,” the Alabama coach said Thursday night before speaking at a Crimson Caravan stop. “That’s what I’m for, so it might be 70 teams, and everybody’s got to play ’em. …”

“I mean, strength of schedule is important, but also, how about the fans? Don’t they want to see good games and all that?

“And the better the games – maybe you don’t have to win every game to be in the championship game. You know? The Giants won the Super Bowl, and what did they lose? Six or seven games a couple years ago? It’s called competition.”

His fear of Kevin Sumlin is so delicious.

His fear of Alabama being called out for their weak SOS and home game losses is what motivates him

I agree. Follow the money and you see 50 teams in the big money crowd and another 10-30 posers before you get to teams hanging on to FBS elites coattails by getting paid $800k to take a dive.

The thought of 12 real games and a pair of 10-2 teams in the champ game makes me happy. (The #10 team in the country would probably be 8-4)

Good. Maybe he can convince Battle that we need to stop bringing in tomato cans for 11:30 am beat downs that nobody cares about.

Just wondering... have you ever played college ball before?

The idea that you have to play 12 hard gauntlet games while not being paid and going to class/exams/etc is a brutal one.

115. Schools would need a ton of depth playing real competition every week. Plus with the amount quality of kids out there these days, and the following irrelevancy of those schools not in the 5 conferences. Quality kids would get left behind and not be able to develop like they deserve. It would be fairer to all involved with much higher scholly limits.

Stupid. Service academies. Boise State. Classic in state rivalries. etc....

You can do things that promote more games among the 50 teams you view as "big money"... but Boise State beat Georgia. Colorado State beats Colorado. Navy plays Notre Dame. The service academies play eachother. #MACtion is awesome.

You can do scheduling alliances and stuff, and at the end of the day do what makes money. If it is economical to get rid of shitty double directional schools and add an extra conference game for your conference network, at the expense of lost gate revenue, do it. The way I look at it... The SEC West is a tough as shite conference on its own. Sprinkle in another SEC East or two, and that accomplishes the same thing.
