when did he hurt it? if hurt it during spring practice then why so late on the surgery?

He already had surgery sometime last month.

Sucks. Devall moves to #1 at jack? Anderson lots of work too? Tons of pressure on XD in fall camp for sure.

I think Dickson will still see plenty of snaps at Jack during the season, but will likely get more play as an interior rusher.

Devall was working 1st team over him healthy in the spring. A 100% healthy Dickson though helps breed completion and avoidance of complacency. It also gives Bama an old guard to turn to if DD where to somehow fall on his face in the latter part of this year.

Anderson is likely to stay inside, supposedly he impressed coaches with his approach to the move. Fits him better, though his 3rd down duties may either be shades of Hightower or Johnson. He can drop down to rush, and they've practiced subbing him with a coverage specialist in Dillon Lee.
