“I’ve told them it’s nothing personal. I just didn’t make the decision I really wanted to on Signing Day,” said Thomas, who picked the Seminoles over USC, Georgia and Miami. “What happened was on Signing Day [was] I wasn’t sure who I wanted to sign with. I had issues with different schools. But when I told my mom I didn’t want to sign with anybody and wait and give it a few days she said I couldn’t do that. She said, ‘FSU is a good school – pick them. It’s close to home.’ I wasn’t agreeing with it. But I felt like I was being disrespectful to her if I didn’t sign. So I made her happy.” Thomas said the pressure of having already committed to make his college announcement live on ESPN also made things tougher. He said he has spent the last few months trying to convince himself Florida State was the right choice, but it just hasn’t felt right. Thomas said his mother and father are now supporting him in his push to be freed from his signed national letter of intent, but ultimately the power rests with Florida State’s staff. “My dad talked to me and gave me some facts about the situation,” Thomas said. “If I tried to go to a school in FSU’s conference I would have to sit out a couple years. But that’s not what I want to do. “I’ve been in Miami all my life. Georgia needs linebackers. It’s a big program. I have family in Georgia. USC, growing up I never thought I would have an opportunity that big. I just want to go have fun and play football.”

He'd probably fit better at South Carolina than Georgia, IMO.

I think the USC is Southern Cal, but the article doesnt seem to say.
He's a guy a lot of Bama fans wanted, but I dont think our staff was too high on him.

What's the likelyhood he gets his release?

I always assume USC = South Carolina for some reason.

If they can't change his mind, they'll grant him the release eventually. Question is which schools they'll permit

I think he would have to sit out a year but that's fine. He can just take a redshirt. If this is really in play Richt, Grantham, and co. need to make this happen.

if he gets the release he is eligible right away. If they don't grant him the release, he will be considered a transfer have to sit out a year.

So you wouldn't know what's going on with the pain in my upper back?

I think he'd still have to sit out a year unless he got a waiver from the NCAA.
Enrolling (actually it's attending a class) is what locks in early enrollees

Disagree, this kid reminds me very much of Jarvis. Elite pass rusher from the LB position.
Really hope this gets done, this guy was one of my biggest wants in last year's class.

The muscles are pulling on your spine and rib cage. Do some back stretches and then ride a bike or swim for a little while. At the end of your workout, and this is the important part, take 3 large bong hits and lay on a flat surface.

Didnt Auburn running back Mike Blakely have to sit out a year when he transferred? Isn't this a similar situation?
