With the mega SEC network in place, will it make
SEC schools bullet proof from NCAA sanctions?

Think about it before you laugh. How quick will the NCAA be to hit an SEC school with tough penalties. What if say Alabama was found to be channeling tons of money to its players, given the amount of money involved with the SEC network, what would happen?
What if Kentucky was found to engage in a massive grade changing regime for its basketball players, what happens?
Even worse scenario, what if several schools are caught in a similar scandal, what does the NCAA do?

The SEC network will be worth billions and of course the NCAA gets its cut from that pie. If there is any dilution of the product, everybody suffers. No way the NCAA could enact a television ban is there? Cut schollies? No way they cut enough to really matter and ruin the broadcast desirability. A fine? Give me a break. The SEC will be rolling in money.

Just a thought.

Cost of living stipends will break away the haves from have-nots. No more big schools getting drug down by poor schools sponsoring legislation that removes competitive advantages.

Maybe someone's a bit more well versed in this whole thing, but I don't think the NCAA would get much if anything from the SEC Network.

I've been under the impression the vast majority of the NCAA's income comes from the basketball tournament television rights.

I don't think there's much, if any, impact on the NCAA from the conference networks. They may get marginalized by the new income the big conferences are making, but if the NCAA falls apart it won't be specifically because of the networks.

I think the NCAA gets a cut of all television revenues from member schools.
