I like TAMU at #6. Last time we had a top 5 preseason ranking, we had 2 losses about a month into the season. Even if we lose to Bama, we won't fall very far.

Could be but tOSU has a better coach...we'll see.

Depends on how badly Bama puts it on you. Saban is going to be out to make a point this year.
But for the sake of argument let's say you only lose by ten, at home. You'll still drop outta the Top Ten because that is how it works early in the year.
The week before that SCAR and UGA will have faced-of in Athens and the loser of that game will be gone from the Top Ten already ... LSU will be moving well into the Top Ten by that time, along with Florida probably so that Florida/LSU game will be between two Top Ten teams with Bama and SCAR both in the Top 5 by then ...
Gonna be an interesting season.

Bama won't blow us out at home. I don't care about Saban's history. I know what he did in Athens. Not gonna happen at Kyle against this team and coach. Also, the closer it is, the more the 12th Man will factor into the game.

The LSU a&m game was close, and the "12th man" was a non-factor. You'll learn what home field advantage is when you come into Death Valley this year.

Could stop the SEC streak of championships.
The only way that OSU will stop the SEC's NC streak is if they don't have to play one in the BCSCG.

No reasonable OSU fan would have OSU ahead of Bama in a poll as of now. Could OSU beat anyone else? Yea, they have the talent top to bottom to compete. I think they could do some things with a month off to catch Bama off guard etc
I think they should be in the 4-5 range right now; people talk about how much Bama lost, but OSU lost their entire starting D-line

....but Im willing to bet most think that Spence, Washington,Bennett and Schutt will be better tho. Regarding Washington tho. Wasnt he listed as 6'6" in HS?? Kid is listed as 6'3" on the roster

My biggest concern for OSU if they were to play a top SEC team like Bama is their DL (especially their DT position). Give Urban another year or two of recruiting, and he should have their DL on par with the SEC teams. Keep in mind that Bama would have a month off as well, and Saban is probably the best in the business in regards to preparing for a team with that much time off.
I'm ok with them being in the 2-5 range due to the fact that they have the best chance to make it to the BCSCG based on their schedule. But I just don't see them beating whichever SEC makes it to the BCSCG (if one makes it), at least not this year.

Last season, the [clemson] Tigers were one of the country's most improved defenses in the second half of the season; they allowed only 4.9 yards per play in their final seven games
I'm not a stat guru and don't exactly know what's good/fair/bad in relation to this category, but doesn't that seem a little on the high side?
That includes passing yards per pass attempt where 6yds/pass is bad and 11yds/pass is where the elite range.

Oh look, Georgia is overrated in another Preseason Poll, just like every other season.
What a surprise!

Could have just stopped there. We get ridiculed no matter what we think, no matter the circumstances.

It's hard to read some of those analyses when it's so blatantly obviously they're twisting words and facts to suit their reasoning for the ranking

Its cool. Ohio State is gonna get murdered by any SEC team they face in the MNC. Bama, LSU, Texas A&M, Georgia, South Carolina, Florida, shite even Vanderbilt would own them.
