He's supposed to enroll at Florida Gulf Coast Community College and then go to LSU. He is a stud; he got the Dandy Don stamp-of-approval.

I imagine a bunch of people trying to be funny with some outdated material will be all you get. I don't know the story, either.

Years ago someone trolled either Dandy Don or Buddy Songy or who knows who about this amazing kid in Louisiana named Ratphuc Hobley. Got the guy to believe them and they posted or said something about it at some point later that they were looking into this kid or he was really good or something.
A legend was born.

The LSU recruiting board was trashing Dandy Don and his recruiting blogs for basing his "thoughts" off of pay sites and not really doing anything himself.
They tipped him off about Ratphuc, saying he's a 5* recruit who's about to commit to LSU and I guess in an effort to break it, he posted it in his morning blog.

Really? I always thought it was someone who e-mailed ol' Dandydon about a little known, yet amazingly gifted recruit in some small La. town named Ratphuc Hobley, and then the dandy one started hyping him up on his site. I also thought Dandydon took the bait on more than one occasion with other fake recruit names.

yeah I thought so but Buddy Songy is also naive/dumb enough to fall for something similar so I wasn't sure if it was misremembered or the story had just changed over time

I wasn't saying any of them were wrong or right. Just agreeing to what a poster said about it almost becoming a myth.

It was believable because Liffort Hobley actually played safety for LSU in the early 1980s before playing for 7 years with the Dolphins.
Not sure why he would name his son Ratphuc though.

It may have originated with Dandydon falling for it and then someone extended the gag months or even years later by calling into Songy's show.
Ratphuc Hobley lives on in all our hearts.
