so about Clint Trickett

sounds like we are seriously after him. How does sit with Jeremy Johnson? After the recent failures of some of our top recruits that have never panned out, I don't put too much stock in recruits, etc. I want someone who can help us win. If Trickett can start for 2 years and be a good QB, then we take him.

I think it's less of an indictment of Johnson and more of one against Frazier and Wallace. Johnson had to assume at least one redshirt year behind the qb's already on the roster. I don't think he cares which qb he is actually behind. JMO.

I didn't know if it would be a problem. Having Trickett the QB and moving Marshall to a different position and then redshirting JJ would be a good idea.

Trickett will be a junior so worst case scenario for Johnson is that he would be in line to start as a redshirt sophomore competing with a senior Wallace.

The plan is if Trickett comes he will compete for the starting job and give the coaches a little insurance to make sure JJ gets redshirted.

Who cares, we don't have a QB at this point.

I just want the best player to be the QB. If that is NM, JJ, or someone else than that is fine with me. Having to compete should not bother someone with elite talent.

I was referring to JJ and I feel he is an elite talent. Since the OP asked how it would effect him.

We need Trickett. Process Frazier, keep Wallace for a signal caller and team moral. Let JJ, Marshall, and Trickett battle it out this fall.
JJ not going to reshirt though. 3 year started like Teddy Bridgewater before winning the heismen and going pro

This sounds about right.

I hope to god JJ redshirts. Last thing we need is for us to logjam QBs and not get one this year to continue the carousal of QBs

Logjam? We have 2 guys that should be wr's and 1 guy that's a converted db. Whether JJ redshirts or not it won't cause a logjam and effect any recruits decision to come to AU.

Frazier won't be processed. I know that probably wasn't posted seriously, but it won't happen. Adding QBs is a great idea.

I was referring to how our QBs are spaced out and depending how we do recruiting a QB this cycle.
Just pointing out that if JJ starts this year we will suck and waste a year of eligibility for him. A number of schools have had unbelievable success with guys redshirting and being significant contributors their RS FR years. On the other hand, no one has done well in the SEC as a true freshman and few of those end up being productive in their careers.
I mixed up classification and shouldn't have said there was a logjam numbers wise.
