Dave Matter is now going to be working at the Post-Dispatch.

Matter is a great writer and I hope he is able to change the way the Post covers Tiger athletics.

Just thought I'd let you all know in case you hadn't seen it on twitter.

New news to me Zoo, but WE DO need better coverage in the STL.

Thanks Zou! I actually have mixed feelings about this. Loved reading his coverage of Mizzou. If the Post allows him to continue doing that work, I will be excited. If not, I'll miss that kind of coverage. I anticipate it will take him less than a month to find a regular rotation on the local sports radio too. Would listen to Matter everyday on the radio before I listen to Miklasz.

If he's not allowed to do at the Post what he did at the Tribune I am going to be very disappointed.

It would be a win win for the fans and the Post.

Don't know about the radio. I would guess he would be doing mostly call in appearances because he and his family is going to be staying in Columbia he said. So that should make access to the teams more easy for him than being in STL.

He is going to be on the beat for football and basketball.

I definitely look forward to his writing in the Post.

Ahh, didn't know he was staying in Columbia. Being in St. Louis, I definitely look forward to it then. If they were smart, they'd find a way to get him on the radio too. At least a weekly show on Mizzou and the SEC. I think some of the stations tried it and it never went over well because the people that did it really didn't know what they were talking about and had no real connections.

I dropped the Post years ago. May actually subscribe again. Love the Cardinals. Enjoy the Rams. But having 12 articles on the Cards and 6 on the Rams got to be a bit much each day.

He must have got Vahe Gregorian's job. Vahe is moving on to the KC Star.
That's a step in the wrong direction IMHO!

Are you shitting me? Vahe was terrible. He merely took the latest 2-3 AP posts on the team, dressed them up with some fancy verbage, and called it his own. Most of these AP releases, in fact came from Dave.

Dave Matter covers the Tigers better than anyone out there. It'll be nice having orignal content for a change.
