USA Today had a big write up on him.

LINK /

He led Georgia to 1943 Rose Bowl win and an undefeated season in 1946.

He played 9 seasons for the Chicago Cardinals. They went both ways back then. He also played defensive back.

He's one of only three players to amass more than 1000 yards in passing, receiving, and rushing. He made 2 pro bowls.

Also batted .334 for the Atlanta Crackers.

One of the greatest athletes of all time.

He chose Georgia over Notre Dame because of a connection that probably violates modern day NCAA rules. A former Georgia player operated a Coca-Cola bottling plant in Pittston, Pennslyvania. He gave Trippi a summer job and influenced him to pick Georgia.
