Will Arkansas make the NCAA tournament?

They have lost 6 of their last 7 games including losses to New Mexico, a sweep by Nebraska, and a loss to TAMU. They're 74 in RPI and if they keep dropping games to terrible teams will the NCAA give the preseason #1 the benefit of the doubt?
The hogs no doubt perform well in games that matter (see LSU, USCe, and Mississippi state) and would probably win any regional they were placed in (as long as it wasn't say LSU, Vandy, or UNCs regional) but if they keep losing games to terrible teams will they even get a chance to prove themselves in the postseason?

Yea they'll travel to a regional as a 2 seed imo.

This will undoubtedly turn into a flame fest, somehow.

They are on the fringe right now. They really need to win the next 2 this weekend. Another series loss would be pretty devastating. Right now the only thing they are hanging their hat on is SEC record...because their overall resume is pathetic.

Who cares? They won't make it far enough to make any noise either way. This season is LSUs.

I think they will be the best 3 seed in the field of 64... Gonna suck for the host team that gets the Hogs in their regional.. Probably have to face Stanek in a winner's bracket game on the second day.

When LSU was mediocre a couple years ago, an RPI in the 20s wasn't good enough to get in. And that team closed the season hot, winning 12 of the last 15.
You never know with the committee.

Unless we have a strong finish in our SEC schedule and "show up" in Hoover we can only hope for a favorable draw in the NCAA.
Hosting in the first round seems doubtful right now but there is still a lot of baseball to be played.
We came out of a 2 seed in the Rice Regional last year to make it to the CWS so it ain't over yet.

I'm not doubting y'all can't perform in the playoffs, I'm wondering if y'all keep dropping games will y'all even make it?

...isn't that what everyone said the last two time the razorbacks were in the CWS and finished 3rd both times?
i'll not be the least bit surprised to see arkansas and lsu meet again in the cws. the razorbacks took lsu to extra innings in their series finale. how many teams could hope to do that. and if not for an obvious bad foul ball call on a ball down the line that went against arkansas, the rubber game would have never went to extra innings.

once again, not questioning arkansas' ability to win games that actually matter, my question is that if they keep losing the games that don't matter, will they even make the playoffs

I'll edit here because even though when I looked at the thread title earlier I figured you were just throwing out some bait you bring up a valid question.
If we can continue to play the way we did tonight and DVH has finally found his lineup then I think we get in. The remainder of our schedule sets up nicely. If we play 500 ball and go 2 and Dreamland in Hoover we're toast.
As stated before some Regional Host is going to be pissed to see us as a 2 or 3 seed at their place.

yeah, I mean y'all swept @USCe, beat MSU, played the series of the season vs LSU but got swept out west, got swept by Nebraska, and dropped games to teams like Western Illinois, new mexico, and TAMU, the rest of y'alls schedule is really weak, and if y'all drop one or 2 of those series, it seems like it would be really hard for the committee to nudge y'all in

mid-week midseason non-conference games do not carry a lot of weight. nebraska couldn't come close to beating ryne stanek and everyone knows it. most major d1 teams throw their second tier pithcers in midweek. arkansas will win when it matters more than likely. their team era still leads the nation.
the last two time arkansas went to the world series, (and finished 3rd both times), i guess some folks forget, lsu had to beat arkansas 2 of 3 for arkansas to be eliminated, then south cackalack had to beat the razorbacks 2 of 3. the only teams to get in arkansas' way in the postseason are other sec teams. that is why i say i will not be the least bit surprised to see lsu and arkansas square off in the cws, again.
in the preseason, i picked lsu to win the west with arkansas second, and tagged those two as being the best teams in the sec. i still think the same. the best two teams in the sec are usually plenty good enough to make omaha.
also, last night's 12-2 walloping of texas a&m on national tv came at the right time. you want to perform best when the national lights are on.

Our OOC record is a bitch. Not gunna lie, we need to get our shite together. I think we'll make the playoffs, but we really need to get it together.
