We are travelling to Athens for the Gamecocks game on September 7th.

We'll be around for the game as well as the Friday and Saturday nights.

What should we see and do? Where should we eat and drink?

TIA

Get a ton of ear plugs and sell them for double what you paid for them. Your fellow cocks will thank you for saving them from the bark in your face crowd. Oh, grab some napkins too. The barkers get sloppy with their spit the more cheap whiskey they drink.

I'd rather have hear barking than 'sandstorm' played after every down

What kind of fare do you enjoy? Porterhouse, Five and Ten, and Last Resort are all very fine establishments. One of them (I think 5 and 10) was voted as the best restaurant in the state of Georgia a few years ago.

I can give bar recommendations in a bit.

We only play it after touchdowns, so I can see why you would get confused there.

The only other time we play it is before kickoff.

If you can on Friday, go to the Border Bash over in Augusta. I didn't see a link for this coming year, but here's some info on last year's.

LINK

It's an annual thing, so they will do it again this year.

you can walk up and down every street in downtown in anhour, there are 75 different places to see and do. choose whatever suits your fancy. its not like other sec towns where you can hit 7 spots and experience the whole town.

Fun things for a USCe fan in Athens: 1) Pick a trash can, any will do; 2) Light the can on fire; 3) enjoy because it's still better than being in Columbia, SC.

All joking aside, the tailgating on North Campus was ruined by Michael Adams but downtown is a blast with numerous food and drink options.

It's getting back to form. Last year it was pretty good, not as packed as it used to be but about 75% back. Was a blast for Tennessee game last year.
