Is this the worst coached team of the Van Horn era?

I'm a little disappointed so far. We have some great wins under our belts, but the lack of giving a shite from the team in mid week games and the lack of focus early in the season out in Arizona is troubling.

Butler needs to pack his shite already as well.

I don't know, I said it last and got drubbed, but DVH isn't a championship coach.

He's a good coach, but not a great one, and he'll never win a title here despite all of these talented teams.

I think last year will be our best year for a long time.

I don't want DVH going any place. My frustrations are with Butler and his inability to coach hitting, which is his job.

My frustrations are not with Butler this time, it's with DVH.

Stuck in his ways and refuses to offer more scholarships to get some solid hitters, just gives the highest priority scholarships to pitchers and it continues to get mediocre hitting players and mediocre defense with great pitching.

Until DVH decides to spend more on hitters, expect more offenses like this year, results as well.

It's pretty obvious we don't have talented hitters, a hitting coach can only do so much, the few guys that are talented, are hitting fine.

DVH certainly seems to have the same philosophy towards Pitchers as Petrino has towards QB/WR's.

They make for dominance in certain phases of their games, but not for balanced championship winning caliber teams. They'll be competitive but require luck to get near the top but not have all the pieces to beat a team that's really good across the board.

I absolutely agree. The inconsistency in the team's intensity is troubling. They played with focus and determination on Saturday against LSU. It would be nice if they would attempt to play to that level for the remainder of the season. It's part of the coaches' jobs to instill that mentality along with discipline into the team.
