I wish we would switch to Adidas for all sports.

Look, the only reason we would leave UA is if we get boned in negotiations due to the scorched earth negotiations we did last signing. Financially, we view our contract as a top 5 apparel deal despite sales only averaging top 10-11 over the course of the deal.

Also, the value of our deal is low since our colors blow for apparel companies. These companies sell blank colors no logos and milk revenue from fans but brught orange doesnt sell to non AU fans. Thats why UGA red and black is so valuable because fans tie it in but everyone will wear red and black too. Our blue is an obscure blue not commonly used.
Translation, they have to use specialized dye for our shirts that can only be sold to our fans while other schools just use already existing dyes.
Significant sciences for company

We will never have Nike since they have UA and do not need significant increase in Alabama representaton so their marginal benefit is not high and they would never give us a good deal. We would have one of if not the worst apparel deals in the SEC if we switched

Addidas already have top programs. We are Under Armour s top program so we leverage it into a better deal. The basketball aspect is completely overrated and didn't make a difference we just suck

Yup.

Adidas is turrible. I'd want either UA or Nike, and Nike ain't happening.

Navy Blue is pretty damn common and often sold.

These conversations are a month old so may not be 100%

Some people cheap out and usegeneric navy blue but from what I was told our official g dye for blue is different than traditionalnavy blue. That is what Itook aa way from it. Maybe he just was refrencing the orange only

Look these are things I heard from someone who sits in these negotiations. Take it or leave IDgAF

They told me schools like UGa have gold mine colors though and aboveisthe reasons

It doesnt matter to me one way or the other. Just thought it was strange. Also, there are other fans that like our style orange and blue - Da Bears.

ETA: Also forgot UVA.

It honestly was one of the coolest conversations I have had. AU has a lot of aspects thatmake them not the most ideal program for the companies. The reason we have such a legit deal is that our negotiating te@am basically told UA "You have no one close to AU in prestige or sales, you need us or you will never break into the market" back when we signe when UA was trendy but had no foothold in any sport. Essentially we threatened to kill /stifle their growth

I've heard UA isnt too fond of AUs legal team after that

This is true. They were just breaking into the College Team Outfitter game in 2006 and were definitely on the rise in the apparel industry. Its the best outfitter for Auburn IMO. Looks the best. Huge step up from freaking Russell.

Back when we signed with Under Armour, I think Maryland was the only other school that had a contract with them (for obvious reasons).

USCe, Utah, South Florida, Hawaii and Boston College came later.

None of those are AUs level from a merchandising perspective.

AU for now is the UA crown jewel program. We have a sweet position with UA it is stupid to mess with that just because some out terror blame bball on UA (which our lawyers believe is propaganda by competing firms not truth)

Just clarifying man.

Under Armour owes a lot to AU for taking achance on them when no one, not even mid majors, would andshowing programs UA can support a major AD.

Too bad deals aren't made based on past help now ua is a major athletic company. They don't feel like they owe us anything

I like the Michigan uniforms, but I would be pissed if our basketball team started wearing Zubaz shorts like the other Adidas schools did
