7-5 with a bowl win over a crappy ACC team ? if all the cards fall right i could see 8/9 , but I think 7-5 is a safe bet for now

nothing would make me happier than upsetting the corndogs im friends with several LSU fans and they're annoying, they do a better job at getting on my nerves than bummer fans and that aint easy

6-6. We'll split the 4 tossup games. It's a shame we aren't going to have that good of a team because this schedule would be pretty manageable for an elite team.

13 would've been another championship year for us, but the previous staff screwed everything up

We win the 4 cupcakes.

I really think we beat both MS schools. Both are at home. OM would scare me this year except for they play Bama in Tuscaloosa the weekend before and we have an off weekend.

I am optimistic so let's say that is 6 wins.

I really think we beat both TN and Arkansas, but for the sake of argument let's say we lose one so at the worst we are 7-1

LSU, A&M, Georgia, and Alabama

I think we surprise people and pull an upset in at least one of these games.

8-4 regular season. 9-3 if we beat both TN and Arkansas

put down the pipe... we need to split the two Mississippi schools, and somehow split the two winnable road games (ark & UT)... that's the way to get to 6-6.

But even that's not a gurantee... this team has serious holes pretty much everywhere. Right now, it appears the offense is ahead of the defense in spring practice (based on the last scrimmage reports)... and that's with a severe lack of talent at the QB position.

I think Nick Marshall is the real deal and solves the QB position:

Washington state W

Arky state W

Mississippi state W

LSU L

Ole Miss W

Western Carolina W

Texas A&M L

Florida Atlantic W

Arky W

Tennessee W

Georgia L

Alabama L

8 Win Season

Until Gus' offense proves it can score on good defenses in the SEC, I'll say:

Washington St. W
Arkansas St. W
Mississippi St. W (b/c it's at home)
LSU L
Ole Miss W
Western Carolina W
Texas A&M L
Florida Atlantic W
Arky L
Tennessee W
Georgia L
Alabama L

7-5 in Year 1. I'll take it. If we see some serious improvement on D, I'll be happy. That's what I wanna see more than anything.

Washington State L - We should win this, but I think our defense fails us.

Arky State W - No way Gustav loses this one.

Mississippi State L - I think this is a close loss. Probably the one I'm most likely to guess wrong.

LSU L - Close loss last year means nothing.

Ole Miss W - 6 wins last year due to playing 5 terrible teams. Not quite convinced of Freeze's genius yet.

Western Carolina W - Cupcake.

Texas A&M L - Think JFF's inevitable fall to earth won't make much difference, other than they won't be ahead by 42 with 10 minutes left in the first half.

Florida Atlantic W - Cupcake.

Arky L - Another close loss.

Tennessee W - A close win, finally.

Georgia L - I think we give them a run, but fall short.

Alabama L - These guys will kill us, again, but we will at least show up this time.

That puts us at 5-7 by my math. That's about as optimistic as I can get right now.

Says the same guy who was conceding to every SEC fan and Bama fan in sight in the 1st quarter of the 2010 Iron Bowl.

I was afraid this would happen all along.

Bama's got more talent, better coaching, and a major homefield advantage going.

I stand by my earlier prediction that we go at least 8-4.

We already have the talent to run Gus' offense. Last season they tried installing a brand new offense, Chizik meddled, blah blah blah

We lost to Clemson, Vandy, and LSU by a TD or less. I bet all things even, if Gus was at the helm as OC we would have scored the points to win those games.

The OM score was not indicative of how superior they were to us. It was late turnovers that killed us.

And there is no way the defense is worse.

Yep, biggest AU homer on this board.

And that's 66.7%, so it's still a passing grade, right?

And at that particular time, down 14 points (soon to be 21) with zero yards of offense on our first three possessions, I had legitimate reason to be a little pessimistic, dontchathink?

Still, kudos to you, beatbammer, for wading through 2 1/2 years and 25 pages of my blithering on the Rant to find that particular gem...
