So that makes him about a second and a half faster than Manti?

One scout timed Lacy as having run a 4.59 and 4.62 in the 40. His top time would have placed him 15th among running backs who competed in March's NFL combine.

It doesn't appear that any official times or any breakdowns of his performance are yet available. All that I've seen reported is quoted in the OP.

Sounds like he was out of shape and didnt do himself any favors today.

It does appear that he couldn't finish the workout because he was out of shape, however.
I know he had an injury, but dang, don't schedule this unless you're ready.

Exactly. Ware didn't even run the 40.

I think he helped himself with the measureables but hurt himself with the position drills.
The good news is that he got better in games late. Maybe he can blame his poor conditioning today on his injury.

I didnt see any of it, but that doesn't seem like a bad time considering how big lacy is. He seems huge.

He will be ok. The time isn't elite, but very respectable. It does, however, put to bed the misguided people who said he was "just as talented, if not more talented" than Trent Richardson.

Overall review: Very talented. Natural hands; great feet; balance and body control. Fluid changing directions and making hard cuts

Disappointed in stamina and conditioning. Stopped twice during workout to catch breath. Didn't give maximum effort in drills. No finish.

Coaches cut the workout short due to his struggles. Only asked Lacy to do 3-4 cone drills, them spent the rest of day catching passes

Scout and coaches left with questions about Lacy's work ethic and preparation habits. Some wondered why he wasn't ready for his big day.

Lacy told me he has several private workouts/team visits on the calendar, so he might be able to answer those concerns in those meetings

Conditioning will hurt him a little, but I don't think anyone thought of Lacy as a separation kind of back. He is very agile and can catch the ball. Will be a okay NFL back if he can stay motivated and healthy.

He's going to be the first running back off the board regardless of what his performance did today. It'll be the third straight year for Alabama to have the first back taken.

The Rams will take him with one of their first round picks. You can take that to the bank.

Yeah, even a big guy like Le'Veon Bell ran around 4.60 in Indianapolis, and a lot of people were pleasantly surprised with that.
I don't think it's that terrible, plus he was nicked up too.
