Just like AK and the tourney, it has to be. He is coaching our team out of situations to win. He has been here over a decade without a trip to Omaha and we can pull just about anyone we want outside of the SEC (sans Texas, FSU, UNC, etc.)

We have the AD in place to make a good hire. Now or never.

What say you?

Bianco is garbage. Its pathetic we get the players we get every year and we go .500 in the sec. We should host a regional every year and play in a super regional damn near every year. Omaha? shite we can't get to the super. Bjork needs to pull the trigger and fire his arse. I'm on this wagon. I'm in!

Returning next year: Orvis, Bousfield, Ellis, the decent Overbey brother, the shitty Overbey brother, Jamison, Smith and Anderson...Maybe Allen ? and maybe Mayers if he goes 0 and frickin 10 in SEC play.

Talk about holes... Our team will be mayonnaise based cole slaw next year... I agree 100%... If we dont make Omaha and have to start over then it needs to be with a new coach... Either bring in McDonnell or Schnausnagle (sp?).

And don't feel bad for Bianco... Georgia may hire him the same day that we fire him... He will definitely have a new job before the end of June if he doesnt want to take a year off.

I just asked this question twitter. I dont know anything (nor care) about baseball. I still don't like to see our school lose at anything though. I was wondering what kind of rope Bianco has. Is he in a similar spot AK was in?

Yea he got in hot water missing the tournament in 2011. He didn't help his cause last year. We haven't hosted since 2009 I think and going into the year the thought from a lot of people was host or get fired.

Bianco is decent. Like AK if we have the players might luck up and do okay. But we aren't going anywhere with him. He loves talent and potential but has no eye for the game In Recruiting. And I definitely don't think he gets the most out of his teams. That said I'm on the fence

Just for the sake of trying to sway you, we have top 10 facilities and money in our baseball program. Do you see Bianco as a top 10 or even 20 coach in the country? I don't think so and I believe there are a ton of better coaches out there that would love to coach at OM.

This should be Bjork's short list:

Louisville's Dan McDonnell
Virginia's Brian O'Connor
TCU's Jim Schlossnagle

I don't think O'Connor leaves Charlottesville but we definitely test the waters

If we make it to Super Regional play Bianco will still be our coach next season imho.

I've been on the fence for years now. We have great support and should do better but I guess I'm just a pussy and afraid it will get worse.

Do not want McDonald.

Louisville's Dan McDonnell

Why? Minus the CWS trip his first year(without any of his players) he hasn't really done enough to warrant solid consideration, IMHO. especially not enough to be the first person that comes to your head.

the other two, I agree with.

This. I don't see anything in him that warrants being an SEC coach. I wouldn't want to trade Bianco for him.

Everybody has different opinions. I'd rather he stay. Our fans are so quick to want coaches fired. I'm just not in that category. It would have to be a total collapse in at least two years to warrant him being fired, in my opinion. Others opinions differ from mine. It's not as easy to get to Omaha as some like to post about. And some of those times we missed out, Bianco can't be fully blamed for it. He wasn't the one who decided to throw a ball in the dirt from 7ft away. He's not the one who struck out with runners stranded. Players have a responsibility as much as the coach.

If you're a good enough coach, you should be able to win enough games in that shitty conference to host a regional. No reason for him to have double digit losses in that conference if you think he deserves this job.

I'm not a fan of McDonnell.

Like you mentioned, he's had one big year.
