FedEx Smartpost... You've got to be kidding?

So I ordered some books from Amazon Thursday morning. Apparently they arrived in town Saturday at 9 am, yet I have yet to receive them. What the hell have they been doing for 48 hours? Looked at my tracking and it says that it's done by FedEx Smartpost. Did a little research and found that absolutely NO ONE has had a good experience with this service. If this is what Amazon has to offer for the past three years and on, how the hell have they not dropped these clowns? Anyone else had/have this problem?

So what is FedEx Smartpost?

FedEx Smartpost = USPS FWIW. So if they receive it on Saturday morning you aren't getting that shite until Tuesday or Wednesday. I had Amazon customer support explain it to me and basically USPS gets hundreds of Amazon packages on huge pallets and it takes them a couple of days just to sort through them. If you paid for 2 day shipping or something you should ask for your shipping costs back. Amazon will refund it.

No I did regular shipping. The thing is I usually go third party when on Amazon. This is the first time I have ordered directly from them. I have never been happier to want to use UPS after this. UPS has always been 2-3 earlier than estimated. This is probably the last time I order directly from Amazon if this is the way they are going to treat their customers with shitty logistics.

I think you just got unlucky. I've been ordering stuff directly from Amazon for ten years and have only had one minor shipping issue.

Idk. Like I said I'm not the only one this has happened to. Some people had to wait 3, yes count'em, 3 months for their stuff to arrive and it usually ended up at the post office.

In their defense, not many people go online to review a postal service unless its a bad experience

Yeah...when I ordered textbooks back in January it was the first time I had ordered direct from Amazon in a long time because a couple of the books I needed were brand new and no used copies were being sold anywhere. It took them about 12 or 13 days to get to me. They sat in the post office for 10 of those days.

Ugggh. it's a joint venture between Fedex and the post office. Something was sent to me on March 1 from California and I didn't get it for 2 weeks. TERRIBLE.

See this is what tells me ole Bezos need to get his shite together. I mean he has the top Internet retailer site and he decides to go for inferior shipping? Maybe it's time for someone to step down because this is pathetic.

When I've done prime shipping, it's been great... they guarantee 2 days for free. My package I got wasn't through amazon, but if I had known it was going to take 2 weeks, I would have paid $10 extra for second day. It was ridiculous. The worst part was that I could track it and watch it sit an hour away for 3 days.

Yeah, that's where I'm at right now. When it got in town early Saturday I was like wtf? Why isn't it heading to the crib right now? So because of Sunday they get a pass, but now it's been close to 60 hours with the same status. Someone needs to pull their thumb out of their arse and give me my shite.

I order from Amazon all the time and always get the standard free shipping (5-8 business days) because I almost always get it within 3 business days. I only had one issue and that was because they tried to drop it off when I wasn't there. I simply scheduled a redelivery and got it no problem.
tl;dr I order frequently from Amazon and always get shipments earlier than advertised.

So is Smartpost supposed to be 2 day delivery or something? I usually just order via USPS and get my packages in about 5 days.

No it's regular shipping. My problem is my package has been in town for 60 hours now just sitting there. Got there Saturday gave them the pass because of Sunday and it sat there all day today. My question is why? Why was it not ready to be at the house today? Were they just like: eh frick it still have one more day till it HAS to be there. Poor management is what I'm saying. And with that why even have this piss poor service have anything to do with your company. Especially one as large as Amazon.

SmartPost is a delivery technique used by FedEx where they are supposed to deliver the package to your local USPS office and let them basically bring it with the mail. I have rarely had any good experiences with SmartPost. Sometimes resellers on Amazon will send by SmartPost, but I have never had Amazon utilize it themselves. I am a Prime subscriber, so that may be why.

It's USPS' fault, trust me. They suck.

All I know is I better not have to go up to the PO here in a few hours.
