CBS asked 10 schools to state their case for why their school should be in the tournament. LINK Not sure why they even asked us...

quote:

Alabama 21-12, 12-6 SEC (tied for second)

RPI: 60
SOS: 73
Non-Conference SOS: 118
Best wins: Villanova, Kentucky, Tennessee (twice), South Dakota State
Worst Losses: at Auburn, Tulane, Mercer, Dayton

-- Went 1-5 in December and were without lone senior Andrew Steele, who had surgery to repair a sports hernia. Missed seven games from Nov. 23-Dec. 30. Starting center Carl Engstrom was also lost for the season with a knee injury on Dec. 1.

-- Team is 3-6 in games that Steele has not played. Crimson Tide are 18-6 with him in the lineup.

-- Alabama was second in the SEC with a 12-6 mark, ahead of Missouri and Ole Miss.

-- Crimson Tide won 13 of their last 19.

-- Alabama played just two games at home -- Kentucky and Tennessee - against the top five teams in the league. Crimson Tide won both.

-- Alabama is 8-8 against top-100 RPI teams and 7-9 in road contests.

Tennessee 20-12, 11-7 SEC (tied for fifth)

RPI: 59
SOS: 58
Non-Conference SOS: 43
Best Wins: Florida, Missouri, Wichita State, UMass, Kentucky, Alabama
Worst Losses: Georgia (twice)

-- Won nine of last 11.

-- Went 4-1 in last five true road games.

-- Two losses came in games that starting point guard Trae Golden missed due to a hamstring injury (Georgia, at Arkansas).

-- Team had to adjust to playing without All-SEC forward Jeronne Maymon this season. He redshirted due to knee injury.

-- Eight straight seasons of top-six attendance nationally; fans will travel.

Kentucky 21-11, 12-6 SEC (tied for second)

RPI: 57
SOS: 69
Non-Conference SOS: 59
Best wins: Florida, Missouri, Ole Miss
Worst losses: Georgia, Vanderbilt, Texas A&M

-- With one of the youngest teams in the country, Kentucky has overcome the adversity of losing its starting point guard (Ryan Harrow) in November, then having its starting forward (Willie Cauley-Stein) out for four games in SEC play before losing its best player (SEC Freshman of the Year Nerlens Noel) for the season. Team was 4-4 after Noel injury but defeated Florida and Missouri without him.

-- Kentucky beat Maryland on a neutral site, Ole Miss on the road and split with Tennessee. UK had a 3-1 record against the SEC's most likely NCAA teams (Florida, Missouri and Ole Miss) and Kentucky's 4-3 record against the top six teams in the SEC was the league's best.

-- All losses since Noel injury came away from home.

-- 1-3 against Top 25 teams in the RPI and 9-0 against teams ranked below 200.

-- 3-3 against the top 50.

I love how we're not good enough to be in the tournament but we're listed as a "best" or "quality" win for half the bubble teams.

Yeah, your RPI and BPI are higher than both Alabama and UTk. Y'all are being downgraded almost solely on the loss of Noel. Fairly or unfairly.

Well in this case, they listed both a UT or Bama win the same way, though I know what you're saying. Sucks that y'all lost Noel. Took away our far and away best win and probably keeps y'all out.

EDIT: Just saw they didn't list the UT win for y'all. I would say they must be strictly looking at the Noel-less team, but they listed the OM win.

BAMA SHOULD GO OVER TENN.

Anyone that looks at South. Miss and see they have a 32 RPI with 2 wins over UTEP and a win over Denver as their best wins ,knows the RPI is nothing but B.S.
