Everyone probably knows by now how Aaron Murray spent his Spring Break in Norman, OK. However, Bruce Feldman has a really good article on the particulars of why Aaron was there...

Good read, but it begs the question why Richt and Bobo haven't brought it to his attention in 4 years.

His throwing motion isn't broke. Why fix it?
George Whitfield specializes in what pro scouts and pro QB coaches work on. Mark Richt and Mike Bobo do not. Plus at the QB position, fresh perspectives are a big deal and are welcomed to help break through to the next level of being great.

The bigger question for me is who is paying for all this expertise? I know that the Murray's are fairly comfortable, but I was wondering about all the other guys on that list at the end of the article. You are talking about $2000 probably when travel and his services are paid for I assume guys are are crashing with people as it seemed that Murray was.

Look, I am not one of the fire Richt Fire Bobo guys, I am the exact opposite. that being said they are two former QBs and the impression I got from that article was that Murray had never heard that critique. Is it not a valid question?

The article states that Whitfield only charged $200 day for the lessons. So your assessment of $2000 for the trip is probably pretty accurate. I would think that Murray's would have no problem paying that knowing it will make them millions later.
ETA: as far as the other guys that will be attending his classes, I assume their families would do the same. I am middle class in every sense of the word, but I could come up with $2000 for my son to attend such a class.

Especially considering that your son would be receiving free room and board year-round.
Glad that they were able to identify a problem and that it sounds like they have been able to fix it. Next our coaches should consider setting our kickers up with a similar trainer since we don't have anyone on staff with that sort of expertise. If only someone had been able to identify and correct Walsh's problem in the offseason before his senior year...

FWIW... I think Murray & his family had to foot the bill. Would be a violation IMO if UGA payed his tab.
Was Walsh starting to struggle at the end of his Jr. year? or did his problems come outta the blue? I can't remember, seems like it came on all at once. Everyone was like...

These parents are saving a shite ton of money with these athletic scholarships. Yea, shite ton amounts to 50k-100k, depending in-state or out-of-state. So they would easily spend $2,000 on their child's future.

I pretty sure he would have spend that if he went on spring break in cancun or key west. If you factor in travel, hotel, alcohol, girls (doubt he would pay for puss, but who knows), $2,000 sounds about right to me. Maybe it took him 4 years to save it.
