Some in the area probably have heard. But someone I consider a best friend, and an even better brother, burned to death in his truck after colliding head on with a tractor trailer last night.

I simply ask that if you pray, please pray for his family and friends. He was too young. And damn did he love the Vols.

I'll be rooting for them from here on out in his honor.

Sorry, had to vent.

He's from McMinnville Tennessee. He was living in Knoxville at the time. He went up an on-ramp to the interstate.

Drinking and driving.

Prayers sent.

Losing a close friend is one of the hardest things that you can go through. The only thing that heals is time. You feel free to vent here any time you need to.

Thanks everyone. I feel very alone seeing as how I just moved to Minnesota for this job. I need to get back asap and have some friends to mourn with. I'm literally alone at my apartment right now waiting to hear from my boss for my flight home.

I am so so sorry. Many prayers to you and to your friend's family. I lost my best friend in a similar way years back, and there isn't a day I don't think of her. I always took a little comfort when I came across people, even strangers, who knew how hard it was to lose someone like that and to miss them so much, and who made the point of telling me that their thoughts were with us. I hope that it helps a little bit.

Thank you bella. I have lost loved ones before. My brother was murdered. But you never get used to the feeling I guess.

I just regret coming up here now. I just feel like I need to value my friends and family more. These things are always eye opening.

I was separated from everyone when I found out about my friend too. It's the saddest feeling. I remember sitting next to some poor person on the flight next to me and I just said... "my friend just died and I am probably going to be crying the whole way home and I am sorry in advance".

Yea it's terrible. It hasn't even sunk in yet.

And bella I'll probably have to give a similar warning to whoever is unlucky enough to sit by me. I'm usually good with my emotions, but we were very close.

I think it gets harder in some ways. It may not be much comfort, but I am sure that when Alabama plays Tennessee this year, I will not forget to say a little prayer.
