Politicians in Arkansas are asking residents to vote in support of an Arky-Arky State football game to be played at War Memorial.

This one-time benefit game is being advertised as an economic savior to the fine state of Arkansas. I believe an in-state football game can be found under desperation in my Econ 320 book.

Vote here:

And I thought the largest zip lining course in the 'south' was good enough to keep the glorious state of Arkansas's economy booming.

You'd think this is just a publicity stunt and would be a cupcake win. But honestly it could be a trap game for Arkansas State.

It would probably look something like this:

REP. ANDY MAYBERRY (R-EAST END) AND REP. HAROLD COPENHAVER (D-JONESBORO) HAVE DRAFTED A BILL TO ENCOURAGE ECONOMIC ACTIVITY, STATEWIDE INTEREST IN INTRA-COLLEGIATE ATHLETICS, AND INCREASED COMMUNITY AND PHILANTHROPIC SUPPORT. THE PROPOSED BILL WOULD ACCOMPLISH THIS THROUGH A ONE-TIME BENEFIT FOOTBALL GAME BETWEEN THE ARKANSAS RAZORBACKS AND THE ARKANSAS STATE RED WOLVES. THE GAME WOULD BE HELD AT WAR MEMORIAL STADIUM IN LITTLE ROCK, AND A PORTION OF THE PROCEEDS WOULD BENEFIT A WORTHY CAUSE FOR THE STATE AND ITS PEOPLE.

My eyes are bleeding because their website is in all caps.

So that's a "No" vote from me.

I'm all for a Ark-Ark St yearly matchup. But frick the economics of it, that's just a stupid argument.

I especially wanted a Petrino-Malzahn matchup, but even with that gone, I'd still like to see it. If Arkansas isn't good enough to beat Arkansas State, we DESERVE to get beat by Arkansas State. Let's have some fricking fun.

frick.

It was actually a fun game. Much more fun than beating them 49-10 like usual.

Well said (no sarcasm). I agree, and they shouldn't try to sell it as a one time thing, should just be an annual thing.
