Apparently they swam away from their trainers this morning ostensibly in search of a “mate” out in open waters. It might not be such a big deal except that these dolphins have been trained to “attack enemy combat swimmers using special knives or pistols fixed to their heads.”

It seems so wrong to train animals that everyone loves ... to kill you.

From the wikipedia entry on Dolphins -
"Though the exact methods used to achieve this are not known, dolphins can tolerate and recover from extreme injuries, such as shark bites. The healing process is rapid and even very deep wounds do not cause dolphins to hemorrhage to death. Furthermore, even gaping wounds restore in such a way that the animal's body shape is restored, and infection of such large wounds seems rare.[20]"
We're fricked. Unstoppable killing machines.

They were just toying with us. They just needed us to equip them, so that they can properly attack Japan for all the dolphin hate crimes.

I never knew that enemy combat swimmers were really enough of a problem that someone would go through the trouble of putting frickin lasers on the heads of dolphins.

Lets just hope this stops with lasers. I'd hate to see a tactical nuke fall into the wrong fins.
