The reason is lingering hamstring issues.

He's still the best RB out of LA since LF.

I think he has the talent to be a great NFL back, but it looks like he will never be healthy.

This isn't something new, it's just his previous injury feeling tight, which usually means it's almost healed.

Guy can't catch a break when it comes to these lingering issues. I'm worried about his ability to stay healthy for the entire duration of an NFL schedule.

Yeah, but it just seems like it's been one thing after another with him his entire career.

Yeah it is a shame he missed all of those games his season. Give me a break every football player is hurt almost the entire season.

Durability is a legitimate concern. He missed several games each of his last 2 years in high school, had turf toe in 2011, had a banged up ankle and knee last year that probably limited his carries the first several games, and now this hamstring issue. He's first round talent but durability has got to be a concern for those teams thinking of drafting him.

Are you kidding me? Lacey has been injured way more than the average Bama running back. Not even close.

Nope not kidding you. Trent and Mark both had numerous injuries during their careers.

i think its smart. does not seem like a serious injury, just a tweaked hammy, but why run your 40 before its fully healed if you dont have to? get a good 40 time and you can make yourself alot of extra money. And as for being more injury prone, i dont really know about that. When was he ever hurt at bama prior to the toe? It is the nature of that injury to be lingering. In fact, it speaks well of his resilience (and the quality of the bama medical staff) to be able to come back from turf toe that required surgery and play at such a high level. both mark and trent had to have knee surgery prior to the nfl.

He wasn't. In '09 he redshirted, in '10 he played mop-up duty.

But the last 2 years he was 100% for maybe 5 games. And like I said, he had injury problems in high school too. Maybe he's just had bad luck and he won't have any issues once he gets to the NFL, but is that an assumption you make on your 1st round pick?

so essentially since getting into college he had 1 significant injury that simply took a long time to heal due to the nature of the injury.

That's one way to put it. But don't think that NFL teams won't go back to his high school career or take into account his college injuries that weren't "significant"

But maybe he'll pass his physicals with flying colors and be able to do everything at individual team workouts. I imagine that would go a long way toward alleviating any concerns.

This is ridiculous. Just because he didn't blow out his knee doesn't mean he hasn't been injured on-and-off for the last two years (read: the only two years he was used in any real capacity)

I don't know what team you guys have been paying attention to, but Lacy has been injured way more than Trent or Ingram were.

Trent had issues going back to his soph year in high school, he had screws in his ankles, he had several things bothering him in his last year and played the title game against LSU with a knee in need of repair. Trent's issues were kept quiet and I really don't know why Eddie's injuries were always leaked out but neither had more issues than the other physically and they both played hurt.

At pro day, Jesse Williams ran a 4.9 in the 40 at 320 pounds. Wish he had been able to run it at the combine.
