Something is wrong with my dog

He is a beagle. He is outside during the day and inside at night. He has been laying around for the last few days, which is totally out of character. He won't eat his dog food. He did eat his heart worm pill a few minutes ago. His gums are white. I've never seen them like that.
He is on the couch sleeping now. He doesn't seem to have upset stomach. Does anyone know what it could be? I'm freaking out. He is like my child.
I don't want to run up a crazy bill at the emergency vet. He isn't throwing up and he doesn't seem to have diarrhea, so I don't think he is dehydrated. He will drink water.
Anyone have any idea what it could be?

Not sure if this is what happened to your dog, but my lab ate a frog or toad a few months ago and laid around for a few days and had a seizure caused by something frogs excrete through their skin as a defense mechanism.

If he's not eating I'd take him. Pale gums usually mean you have a pretty sick pup too.

My mom's beagle ate a frog once. We brought her to the emergency vet because she wouldn't stop drooling. She was just sitting there with drool running out of her mouth like a faucet.
She spent the night there. When we got there to get her the next morning, she was running around playing with the vet and the staff. They fell in love with her.
$250 later, I found out that there was nothing that they could do except for let her get over it.

If he hasn't eaten for more than a day/day and a half you should probably take him to the vet.

I was just walking around the back yard looking around. My neighbor has a loofah tree. The loofahs hang over our fence. There is a loofah on the ground that is almost completely eaten.
I googled to see if loofahs are harmful to dogs and it says that there are dog toys made out of loofahs. I'm sure that he wasn't supposed to eat a whole loofah though.
Idk if that is it though. It is the only thing that I could find.

Take him to the vet. I don't want to cause alarm, but white gums usually means that a dog is either anemic or has lost blood, and if you haven't seen any then it's internal.

How old is he Coastie? Gums are white? Is his belly distended? Is his breathing normal?
That is an absolute emergency. He needs to be at the vet like now.

His belly is fine. He is breathing fine. He comes when called, he is just walking slow and laying around. I just got him to eat some food. He just acts like he doesn't feel good.

I think it's too risky to wait this one out. Pale gums are an emergency. I know it's expensive to do it on a Sunday but I think you should take him in now.

Not trying to scare you - it's just what I would do if it were my own dog.
Monitor his breathing very closely. If his respiratory rate at a rest (breaths per minute, just count for 15 seconds and multiply) go consistently above 50 or 60 he's getting into more trouble. If at any time his belly seems distended or fluid filled it's also a problem. These things will also be good to write down and give to the vet.

Are his gums so pale that when you press on them with your finger you can't see a difference as if you were to do it to yourself? If you can see a difference, exactly how long does it take to fill back in? Longer than 2 or 3 seconds?

No vomiting or diarrhea at all. He is laying on the couch breathing normal. I will watch his belly and breathing though.
I am a bit familiar with signs of distress. He doesn't seem to be in distress. If he was, I would have him there already. I mainly wanted to know if its ok if I just watch him close and as long as he doesn't get worse can I wait until Monday morning to take him to his vet?
