Which is worse (re: Kennedy)?

The fact that we just guaranteed another losing season in conference...or the fact that we're basically so numb to this that we don't care anymore?

And on cue.....

What is worse? We don't care. That is the worst.

Shall we revisit our coaching wish list?

Gregg Marshall?

Shaka Smart? (Probably a very long shot)

Also,in response to the op, both are worse.

I'm going to go with option #2.

'Now I've got that feeling once again
I can't explain you would not understand
This is not how I am.
I have become comfortably numb.'

If you keep saying that it might eventually be true.

C: The fact that he won just enough games that our AD can't justify firing him after two years but not enough to provide any real hope he'll turn it around.

Right now he's in what what I call te "Norv Turner stage", A place where firing him looks like a knee-jerk but where nobody with any objective opinions on the matter can imagine him actually getting the job done.

The fact that he found out he has a life-altering disease just after beginning here just compounds the problem. I can realistically see a scenario where he gets 4-5 years like the past two before he is fired. The reality is that it would probably serve us best to just have absolutely tanked this year, because one legendarily awful year is better than a bunch of bad years.

If we do this bad again next year I think it'll be hard to justify keeping him around. Being under .500 in the SEC two years in a row is pretty much a guarantee that you're a bad coach. Add in a 4-14 record from last year and it becomes obvious that Kennedy isn't going much of anywhere.

The best way out if this is to "promote" Kennedy to some position like, director of basketball operations, etc. He is a terrible coach.

What kills me so much about him is the lack of fundamentals with this team. None of them can dribble, pass, shoot free throws, catch passes, etc. Until these things are learned, they can't play basketball. This is where Kennedy is so glaringly bad.

BCG's first team at A&M was at about the same talent level of this group, but they could pass, dribble, and play defense.

Next year, the only player that played a single minute under Mark Turgeon will be Kourtney Roberson.

Even this year, the only players on the roster who played under Turgeon were Ray Turner and Kourtney Roberson. Ray Turner actually got worse both years under Kennedy.

When we have the same shitty results, what will your excuse be then? "It takes 5 years to build a good program?" "He needs more time?"

Also, are we still going 9-3 over our last 12 games and making the NIT?

Kennedy still has to win 2 more games to equal the best season of Tony Barone in terms of wins. Barone only had 10 total losses in 1993-1994.

Those are a couple of them.

Obviously I overestimated the talent of our players. They do have a lot of heart though, which comes directly from the inspiration of their coach.

if next year is like this one then I will agree that he needs to go. Next year he should have had enough time to put together the type of team he wants.

and blaming him for ET being inconsistent is silly. The dude wasn't going to get better under anyone else. He is what he is.

I don't think anyone is blaming Kennedy for Turner being inconsistent. The fact that the entire offense revolves around him is the problem.

Sorry, I meant Ray Turner. He just aint that great.

As for ET, the offense SHOULD be based around him. He is the best scorer on a team severely lacking in them.

Hopefully his recruits next year and experience for this years kids can give the team a more balanced approach.

The offense should actually be based around a player that can create his own shot. If Alex Caruso ever turns into a competent shooter, the offense should run through him or Reese (if HE turns into a competent offensive player).

Running the offense through Elston Turner is like running it through Josh Carter.

The offense doesn't really seem to be based around anyone because you never know who's going to come up big in a game. Some nights it's ET. Some nights it's Fabyon. Some nights it's Ray Turner. Roberson's had a few really good games this year and I think Caruso has too. Sometimes Jahns does pretty well and sometimes he's a liability. You can't count on much of anyone on this team to do anything consistently.

ET is really the only one that can come close to doing that with any consistency on this team right now.

which he isnt so...

which he has yet to prove

again, ET the the best scorer on a team that needs scoring. Ergo, he is 1A. This shouldnt even be a debate.

more like Josh Howard minus the rebounding
