With the loss of Young, Powell, Mickleson, Wagner, and Scott?

Will Harris be our leading scorer?

What say you?

I think we will be better. Hate to see Powell leave but it's probably best for him. I'm excited to see Portis and Kingsley come in and do work though.

Better athletically, but could take some time to gel as a team and go through some growing pains.

Could see an end result with another trip to the CBI/NIT instead of the NCAAs as result and the impatient fans will see this as an epic failure.

The reality is this culling of the roster should have taken place the first and second year for Mike but could not because Pel acted like the creepy uncle towards the APR who taught it how to wrestle in the basement, naked, in a plastic swimming pool full of KY.

I don't look for Mickleson to be going anywhere. If his testicles drop over the off season he still has the potential to give us 5-8 good minutes a game off the bench.

As good as Portis and Kingsley can be they will still need a breather every so often.

Hell if nothing else make Mick the designated "hacker" under the boards to keep teams honest.

I hope Mickleson stays. We forget that these are young kids still developing. You never know what he will look like next year physically and skill wise. Also, you can't teach 6-10.

Mickelson won't block out and rebound, won't cut off the man driving towards the basket, doesn't like to guard the man on the block. He prefers to guard guys out on the perimeter. He won't post up, not that it would do any good as he has no post game, he prefers to take shots from 15+ feet way from the basket.

Yes, you can't teach 6'10", but it doesn't matter as he makes himself 6'3" on the court by the way he plays, these guys are a dime a dozen out there and the reason why he has been surpassed by Qualls and Clarke as the year has went on.

Williams has more upside than Mickelson.

Madden and Haydar have been doing a better job on the boards the past couple of weeks, Mickelson is too soft and plays every game like it is summertime on the AAU circuit...

Mick will more than likely leave the program. So if that makes you unhappy, prepare your emotions.

Not sure where he would end up. He is terrible for Anderson's system though.

This rebuilding year will be a whole lot better, because the talent we will have will be 100X better than the crap Mike was left with.

We will lose Bj young & powell. Our top two players who play the most minutes and lead us in scoring. Yet we will be better

So we will have Qualls, Portis, Haydar, Clarke & Wade as our starting 5?

Bench would be Williams, Kingsley,Bell, Harris and whoever else.

We need a TRUE point guard.

I remember everyone freaking out because we were losing Brewer, our "best player".

Good bye NIT, sort of, tired legs and all, hello NCAAs.

Then everyone freaked out when we lost our two best players Fortson and Clarke, less Js after all, sure Fort was rollin that shite up elsewhere, but we had the same record without them.

So yes it is entirely possible to be better without BJ and Powell, both who have tendency to take road games off. If their replacements show up on the road and neutral sites and that leads to wins, that is all that it takes as home games have been taking care of themselves lately, no more Morgan States coming in planting their flag at half court...

this might belong on the other thread and i really don't like to trash our players (other teams players- lemme at em) but i won't even blink an eye when bj is gone. in fact, i'll be ready for him to leave. i do not like the type of player he is at all. give me 2 players with 2/3 his talent (or potential- whatever his big draw is) and none of his ballhoggery/street ball/michael jordan wannabe-ness and i'd be much happier.

I think Clarke will be our star player/leading scorer.

PG - Madden 6'5
SG - Bell 6'3
SF - Qualls 6'5
PF - Clarke 6'7
PF/C - Portis 6'10

Bench -

Guards -
Haydar, Wade, Gulley, Scott, Wagner (If he isn't processed)

Forward/Center
Kingsley, Williams, Harris, Stick (If he comes back)

My hope is Wade can get out of his slump and come around as a quality SG again next year.

I think the key to finishing out this class is in Yancy-Harris or Desmond Lee.

About the same as this year, just some different faces.
