I was curious to see if, as some of our fans claim, LSU has been hitting poorly so far this year, so i did a comparison using a formula with figures i took from d1baseball.com.

I only used the top 6 teams (UNC, Vandy, LSU, Oregon State, Fla State and Miss St.) for comparison and used these figures: Number of games played and won to date, total number of runs scored to date, average number of runs per game (runs Divided by games played), and total number of games won by opponent.

Results:
UNC: 12/12 ; 97 ; 8.0 ; 23
Vandy: 12/13 ; 126 ; 9.6 ; 40
LSU:10/11 ; 75 ; 6.8 ; 65
OSU: 12/12; 71 ; 5.9 ; 17(1 tie)
Fla St. 10/10 ; 89 ; 7.4 ; 11
MSU:15/15 ; 108 ; 7.2; 20

These stats are flawed (for instance, in the opponents games won category i didn't list the total number of games those opponents have played), but i don't think they are without significance. Fla. State and Oregon State look fabulous until the games won by opponents category;then not so much. LSU looks pretty good under that category Maybe some of you stat geeks can extrapolate something from these figures that i failed to see. Are any of you interested in using the formula to compare your team's stats and sharing the info? (i double checked all firgures, but could have a mistake).

well, oxymoron and paradox both mean contradictions of sorts, so since the inference of the last 3 posts is that my post IS NOT interesting, i'd have to agree that seems to be apparent....should have titled it "of interest only to me".....

That 20 wins by opponents really sticks out to me. Against 6 total teams, my calculations show that their opponents have an average of approximately 3 wins on the year. Impressive.

The game tonight against MVSU should help too!

Mvsu = 2/11 State gonna grind tonight. Our opponent 3/6, so won't help us out either.
