UK Baseball Season Long Thread

Per Cheese Grits request I have started this thread. I will update the OP a little later to make it better. After sweeping Akron this past weekend the Cats moved to #7 in the polls with a record of 10-1. AJ Reed was named Louisville Slugger National player of the week hitting over .500 and driving in 15 runs in the 5 games. This week we have midweek clashes at home against Cincinnati (Tuesday) and Xavier (Wednesday) followed by a weekend series against the Michigan State Spartans. Hopefully the weather will get better and we will get some better crowds.

I may try to stop by tomorrow, but I doubt it's going to work out. I'll most likely be there Saturday. I'll post here if I go tomorrow.

Today's game against Cincinnati has been postponed. Xavier tomorrow:first pitch at 4 PM.

Good win for our Cats tonight. Cousino made an unreal play in center. Told me he was going to personally bring the Win flag out tomorrow. Hendo and the team came out and thanked us again. Tomorrow is going to be fun. First pitch 2 PM.

Took 2 of 3 against MSU this weekend. Saturday was so bad. Our hitters were just way to aggressive early and allowed their starter to go deep in the game. Cats came back and won against Ohio tonight. They host Cincy tomorrow before heading to Gainesville for a big series against the Gators. Florida is really struggling right now and the Cats have a chance to steal a road sweep.

Good win today from the guys. It's good to see Cousi start swinging the stick again. Can't wait to get back on the deck again. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll make Saturday's game, so I'm going to try and get out there Friday and Sunday.

I need to start updating this more. So far UK has won all 3 series 2-1. Got out for a few innings today, and everything was good except for the collision at first. Brunnel is probably out for a while. Looked like the Pujols injury from a couple of years ago. Midweek Away game @UL and then down to Baton Rouge to take on the Tigers.

ETA:We are in extras. Lead 5-4 now. Gott gets a chopper that Reida can't make a play on. The next guy hits a double play ball to Reida and he throws it away. Next guy grounds into a double play. Gott gets a blown save for getting 3 groundballs. We did retake the lead in the 10th hence the 5-4 line. Going to Bottom 10.

I'm a little bummed that I missed it.
I'm fighting the current dilemma of going over to Swayze at some point this weekend to see some of the Ole Miss/Vandy series or staying in and watching LSU/UK. I'm going to make this work somehow.

What a miserable weekend. Dropped 3 straight to what I would consider the best team in the nation. This weekend we have UT and the highlight will be Saturday. Get a little Baseball/Spring Game double header. We are having a pretty nice sized tailgate and will be out on the deck early. If anyone wants to stop by, feel free.

Cats Beat Austin Peay 6-3 tonight. Hope to see everyone this weekend.
ETA:Mike, we talked to some UK officials tonight and were told that we could have this picture blown up and shown on the deck. It's UT's CF. Worst case is a UK higher up asks us to remove it. Wait til you see the face on this guy when he sees this.
