Saban needs a raise to $6 million IMO.

I think that means the clause kicks in to pay Cal more.

Butch Jones at $3 mil a years seems out of whack. I think the rest seems pretty much what I would expect.

That's why Tennessee is broke. Dude has never coached a game and makes more than half the other coaches are

Hell just give him $100 Mill and tell him he's Bama for life. He's worth it.

Yeah that shite is real stupid but it is the Volginas we are talking about. Guess they wanted to try to compete with Vandy in that area as well. Though CJF makes in excess of $3 mill

Freeze has incentives that can get him above 3 mil. For example, he gets a $100,000 for every SEC win.

I love his contract. It actually awards for truly good performance. Nutt was getting 2.8mil and not doing shite.

Franklin could be making 4 if he wanted, this past contranct restructure was mainly for the assistant coaches, which is why we have lost none. Id say they got a nice chunk since none of them left.

Now he's getting $6 mil to literally not do shite.

Jones had their balls in a vice and he knew it... UT had just botched the Charlie Strong situation and Jones played Colorado.

I don't blame the guy, but Tennessee was desperate and it showed with that price tag... no way he's worth that... maybe not even half that.

congrats on overpaying.

Not that VU is alone in this regard, but salaries today are based a lot on the expectation of future success and less on actual accomplishments... a liberty bowl loss and MC Bowl win = 3+ Million?. The man's done a good job but jeez

I don't get why Auburn doesn't just pony up and hire a big name coach.

They have the resources to be a powerhouse but go cheap on the hires and thats why they are up and down results wise.

Vandy had a nine win season last year. Let that sink in for a bit.....

Also compared to other private university coaches [that are successful]. He's making about what he should.

I don't think they could have done it this past time. They were in shambles and they are also having to directly compete with Saban more than anyone. No truly big name coach was going to come in there during this time and potentially ruin his career (no offense Aubs).

Once Saban is gone I think they would be able to pull a much bigger name, but Gus may end up being really good and they might not have to anyway.

Bobby Johnson won the Music City Bowl... let that sink in. Look, there's no doubt Franklin has done a good job at VU, but I'm still waiting to see if he's more substance than hype.
