If this is true, do Mizzou fans think they have more potential than Arkansas? I mean DGB speaks for itself, so they might be on to something. Do y'all recruit in the midwest and Ohio at all? What about Chicago? Can y'all be the gateway to the SEC for midwest kids, or do they just not like y'all? Arkansas has shown potential, but even when they seem to be really good, it is clear that there are other teams out there that are simply just better. I don't know if they will ever beat Saban at Alabama.

I think it hinges on what MU does the next couple years. If they don't get on solid footing, then all bets are off.. won't matter that we're SEC if we're at the bottom.

This year Illinois has a very solid class of h.s seniors. Will be interesting to see how well we pull kids out of there. We do recruit Ohio, Pinkel is an Ohio guy and coached at Toledo. We've always had a little presence in that area. But obviously tons of competition in that state. I think we'll make strides in states like Iowa, almost had a big recruit from there in our '13 class.

Overall I see Mu and Ark having similar ceilings.. hard to predict how things play out though.

WTF? I know they haven't won a national title but they've at least been to a BCS Bowl, won the SEC West in Football 2-3 times, Final 4's, CWS, dominated in track. Arkansas is not as bad as people think considering the location of Fayetteville in the state. They've brought in some talent to NWA.

Well... we know that MU has had a much better go of it in basketball since '94.

BCS.. SchmeeCS. I think people that know the situation know MU got totally screwed out of a BCS game. Ranked #1 in nation and lost to OU in B12 champ game. Orange Bowl took a KU team that MU beat.

I'd also take a leap and say that the Cotton Bowl is pretty much a BCS bowl. It's on that level even though it doesn't have that tag. And Mizzou killed, destroyed, and mutilated Arkansas in the Cotton Bowl.

The West Division titles in the SEC are impressive. But remember MU has some North B12 titles too, and while not nearly as impressive as winning SEC West, there are still very good teams that had to be beaten to win that division.

Past 15 seasons:
Mizzou:
9 NCAA Tourney appearances
2 Sweet Sixteens
2 Elite Eights
8 20+ win seasons
2 30+ win seasons
2 conference tourney championships
2 seasons with losing records

Arkansas:
7 NCAA Tourney appearances
0 Sweet Sixteens
0 Elite Eights
6 20+ win seasons
0 30+ win seasons
1 conference tourney championship
5 seasons with losing records

(Copy and pasted, did not spend time writing that)

So what you are saying is that in the last 20 years, Mizzou has been better at football and basketball?

BCS MNC winners
(6) SEC West = (3) Alabama, (2) LSU, and (1) Auburn
(0) B 12 North = NONE

Get that weak argument out of here!

Absolutely not in football. In the past 15 years it appears MU basketball has been better. But have nothing to show for it.

You still had to beat Nebraska and usually 2 of the following three on the schedule OU,TX, and OSU.

OSU had a few good years the past few years
TX is all hat no cattle
OU is Auburn or Arkansas but no Alabama or LSU in that period.

Which 'might' (but I'm just guessing) be why I said the SEC West titles are far more impressive...

Nebraska was not at it's height, but they were not total garbage. Those Mizzou teams made them look very bad. They were still loaded with a roster that on paper was better than ours. Winning B12 North titles is not something to boast about, but it also was not easy.
