i picked 39 because that was when we won our ap championship, and turn of the century to prove a point that lsu and a&m have very similar histories until saban was hired and that lsu's past decade does not equal the entire programs history

You are worried about LSU being overly confident about 10 years of great football?

Are you shitting me?

Your entire fan base is all but ready to claim themselves the #1 program in the nation after ONE frickING SEASON where they finished 5th in the SEC.

so you cherry pick a year starting with the best year in your programs history while we are disregarding LSU's best decade? If you are going back to 39 you should just include from the start of the AP poll I mean cmon it started in 34. That is the epitome of cherry picking.

The discussion was of the two programs entire history excluding the most recent LSU decade. The histories were similar but LSU's was still superior. LSU is and always will be > than aggie.

cause 5 years would make such a huge difference. and the whole point wasnt to say a&m=lsu throughout the entire history. my point was that lsu fans seem to think the past 10 years equal their entire history when it doesnt

and it really is a wash

They cherry pick any stat to give themselves the classic aggy moral victories. They are the queens of cherry picking, and there is no king.

neither team won an ap national title until 39. that seems like a very fair place to start. its not like im doing myself any favors by starting there. a&m was very good in the 10s and 20s and lsu was not

Personally I don't see why the Pre 1939 years shouldn't count. A&M was a very strong school in the Pre WWII era. Several SWC Titles and undefeated seasons.

In the end though this argument goes nowhere. LSU folks will just bring up recent history and that's fair. They have been fantastic since Saban came to town. Kudos. A&M has a great history that is marred by the drought from Post WWII to the early 70s when A&M was essentially the Citadel competing in the SWC. That's fine.

The future is what matters and I wouldn't trade ours for yours (and I'm sure you feel the same way).

I was about to say, you're actually weakening our case by not including pre-39.

See, the good shite really started in 1917 when we snatched one Dana X Bible from ...

...

...

...

...

...

LSU.
