What type of offensive numbers would you be happy with this year?

I'd like to see 180 on the ground(what UGA did last year) and 230 in the air(what Vandy did last year).

At 410 a game, that would have been good for 7th last season between Arkansas and MSU.

Whatever numbers give us the best chance to score against the elite defenses of the SEC.

I could give a shite about our offensive numbers. With Gus, I feel like that will come. My concern is the defense.

We're probably a couple of years away from doing this.

I don't care about offensive numbers. I care about wins. 6-7 wins should make me happy.

idc about numbers per say, numbers are often decieving. What I want to see is our talent not going to waste. I hated watching Fannin struggle for four years when we all knew what he could do! I dont want our top recruits leaving the team (Goodwin, Dyer, Mack) and I want a talent like Lemonier (I know, he's defense, but the point remains the same) to have more than one good year.

If our ball players can't develop into NFL-caliber players... isn't that the entire point of college football?

If our coaches can develop the talent that an SEC school like Auburn will inevitably bring in, the Wins will be sure to follow.

Oh, so we are going to get the typical Malzahn offense. Rack up 60 points against the sisters of the poor like Furman. Then score 10 points against LSU.

Auburn 2009 numbers will do just fine.... Remember the year before and the infamous 3-2 game of 2008.. See the stats from 2008 (pre-malzahn) the improvement in 2009 (Malzahn-Year 1) and 2012 (post-Malzahn). Stats can Tell part of the Story

2009 STATS
Scoring: Points/Game 33.3
Passing:Passing: Yards 2857;Rating 143.53
Rushing: Attempts - Yards - TD 550 - 2756 - 24

2008
Scoring: Points/Game 17.3
Passing: Yards 1985, Passing: Rating 102.01
Rushing: Attempts - Yards - TD 469 - 1642 - 12

2012
Scoring: Points/Game 18.7
Passing: Yards 1879; Passing: Rating 117.21
Rushing: Attempts - Yards - TD 438 - 1781 - 16

re: What type of offensive numbers would you be happy with this year?

I agree that the 200/200 club is what I would like to see out of the team. If we are getting 200 per game through the air, then the ground game will be right there with it.

The main thing I am concerned with is having to make the SEC plan for our game this year. Last year, we were essentially a glorified practice for most of the SEC and they should at least be scared to play us.

Realistically, I think we could see us being around 200 a game on the ground with 180 to 190 in the air this year and scoring around 30 to 35 a game. I would like to see 90% of those numbers on average in the SEC too instead of the huge drop off we had against SEC competition in '09. People forget that in '09, we had a few games of no offense before getting back on track towards the end of the year.
