Would the SEC be much different if the HQ remained in Jackson, MS?

In 1948 the conference offices moved from Jackson to Birmingham. Perhaps moving to a more cosmopolitan place like Birmingham aided the conference in becoming the power it is today.

Of course it would. According to LSU fans, the Landmass would have 12 national titles by now because of this advantage.

SEC was founded in Knoxville. Should have stayed there IMO.

It would have been a shame too for State to only of had 1 of those 12.

Which is funny since Birmingham was such an ambassador for racial equality in the south back in those days, amiright?

I love what this completely accurate sentence says about Jackson, MS.

It would actually be hilarious. I think even 1 would be a stretch IMO

If it had never moved Ole Miss would be present day Alabama minus the trailer trash and Alabama would be present day Ole Miss.

Southern Miss would cease to exist because frick them.

This further proves the point that people don't actually dialogue with each other on this site.

They look at the logo next to your name and pull out their favorite worn-out cliche.

Oh well. It is what it is.

Just got more of the spotlight because it is bigger and more cosmopolitan than all the slums in Mississippi.

I'm not sure you could ever use that word in association with one of the epicenters of racial discrimination (unless you never bothered to learn what that word means).

I don't disagree. Which is why earlier in the therad I thought the accurate statement about how it's more cosmopolitan than Jackson says so much about that shithole.

I was more using our current example for the argument about what if the HQ was in Mississippi. Like we see today, 1 team becomes the powerhouse in the state while the other can't get out of the shadow of the powerhouse and become forever irrelevant.

Well when compared to Mississippi I think it's fair, but the OP used it and I just followed along in the thread...

You think that has something to do with the SEC office being in Birmingham?
