Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Johnny Manziel can't capitalize on his name, but he can protect it.

Manziel's corporation, JMAN2 Enterprises, filed a lawsuit in Texas last week against Eric Vaughan, a man who was selling T-shirts that read, "Keep Calm and Johnny Football." Manziel claims Vaughan infringed on his trademark rights.

Although Manziel didn't file papers to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for "Johnny Football" until Feb. 2, a trademark doesn't have to be federally registered for there to be an ownership claim.

The lawsuit asks the court to award damages for the unlawful sale of the "Johnny Football" T-shirts. Texas A&M's compliance office recently received a ruling from the NCAA that a student-athlete can keep financial earnings as a result of a legal action.

Dude's a joke. He'll never make in the NFL. He's just trying to rack it up while he can.

In other news, ALABAMA is suing LSU defensive lineman for copy right infringement.

Bc it's America. And it's just a nickname.

Honey badger wasn't suing people for making "honey badger don't care" t-shirts. It is just petty and a douche move. If you're going to be playing in the NFL is tshirt money that big of a deal? It's free exposure and a bitch move by manziel. Simply put.

Opposed to selling it himself, oh lets say, 30,000 times to a person who turns around and submits them all to be authenticated.

In the end, this is a spoiled kid fricking up some A&M fan's life for no reason. Johnny could ring up one of the boosters and have anything he wanted waiting at his doorstep but he decides to file a lawsuit because of a fricking t shirt with the words "Johnny Football" on it. Pathetic.

Joker... You're clueless if you think he makes these decisions himself... This has all been carefully orchestrated by both the school and his family over the last couple of months. They're setting a precedent thats really not that hard to understand.
