Bama is the king, but long term, it seems like LSU and Florida are in better position. People are always talking about the best job in the country and I don't see how it isn't UF or LSU?

there probably is no single job that is the best but there are several. all three in your op are there but so are ohio state and tejas. the hc at all of these schools make betweeen 4 and 5 mil/yr.

While LSU and UF look better on paper. Alabama has a history and tradition of wining that keeps them above all others.

LSU is not necessarily "insulated" right now. We have tremendous pressure from Bama, and now ATM, for our in-state recruits. Miles keeps doin work though.

I think youve got it right. LSU and Florida always have a good coach it seems.

I've always thought UGA was a very attractive job.

You must be too young to remember the 80's and 90's. But I'm glad you think this way.

Insulate-

n·su·late (n s-l t, ns y-) tr.v. in·su·lat·ed, in·su·lat·ing, in·su·lates. 1. To cause to be in a detached or isolated position.

WTF are you talking about ITT?

I understand the reasoning for Florida being the "best" job, but why LSU? LSU is a high end job, but I see no reason why it is better than Alabama or Oklahoma.

I hope not because flaming is against guidelines.

My answer would have to be LSU. They are king of a vastly talented state and don't have to share instate with anybody.

Bill Curry, Ray Perkins, Dennis Franchione, Mike Shula, and Mike Dubose each have a 10 win season, including 2 1st place finishes in the SEC, all while coaching Alabama. Let that sink in for a minute.

To the extent there has been a "king" in the SEC it has been Bama more often than not for pretty much the entire existence of the SEC (obviously there is some ebb and flow, but it's clearly been Bama most often). That's pretty long term.

Alabama is in as good a position as anyone with respect to money, facilities, support, recruiting, etc. for the foreseeable future.
