Different dates get thrown around this board all the time. Such as the '01 SECCG against LSU or when they lost to Wyoming and fired Fulmer in 2008 or when the hired Lane Kiffin. But i have a different date that i think without a doubt led to the downfall of their program: November 19, 2005, the day that Earl Bennet caught the game winning TD pass in the winding moments against Vanderbilt to snap UT's 22 game winning streak over the Commodores.

But i think this date also serves as a watershed moment for another program: the beginning of the rise of Vanderbilt's program, Ever since the programs have headed in complete opposite directions. We have reached levels that we couldn't dream of reaching in the 60 or so years before. I feel last year we pulled even with UT and this coming season with Coach Franklin's (best coach in the state) leadership, we will pull ahead for good.

idk... you being a Vandy fan sure opens you up to a lot of criticism for a thread about UT, but... i mean, UT did fall... DOWN.... -HARD-

I guess I'd say when they cleaned out fulmer and got kiffin. Its been pretty rough since then. Hell they played in ATL in 07.

- When UT/Fulmer crapped on Majors. Since then they were on borrowed time until karma caught up with them.

- The hiring of Kiffen. Nothing wrong with firing Fulmer but hiring Kiffen was a terrible move.

i understand that and lord knows i am not proclaiming us National champions anytime soon. I am just pointing out the differences between our 2 programs in the last 8 years and the common date that each started on these respective paths.

Seeing if people agree or disagree

I've had an account for a month and posted a little bit. Been meaning to start this thread just haven't had the time.

That other Vandy fan you are talking about......not so sure about the legitimacy of his fandom if you know what i mean

One night I got so drunk I pissed my pants.

Not sure of the timing, but it had to have something to do with it.

Totally agree Broammar Gadhafi. It is obviously Vandy's state now with all the SEC dominance and what not.

I just hope UT can somehow catch up. Hell, I might have to jump on that Vandy bandwagon soon before it gets all filled up.

At least you have beaten Florida since then, haven't done that since the day we snapped the streak, in Neyland mind you

it probably won't fill up that fast to be honest, but if you are use to things filling up at the rate Neyland does these days you might want to move a little faster for a seat

Thank you for the heads up, I will definitely keep that in mind. That old erector set called Neyland should be demolished. I might be crazy, but Dudley field is one of the nicer venues in the land. I mean, that place is niiiice. I wish UT could get something like it, but of course our AD is broke.
