The linked site is a map of U.S. States, listing the most common place cited in "missed connections" ads on Craigslist in each state. In every SEC state except Kentucky, Georgia and South Carolina, it's Wal-Mart. South Carolina had the best place for missed connections, IMO, and is the reason this is on the SEC sports board instead of O-T...

What exactly is a missed connection?

Sorry for being old.

On the website, there is a section for personal ads, broken down by type. One type is "missed connections", where people post if they saw someone on the street, at Wal-Mart, etc. that they want to meet, but didn't get the chance to talk to them when they saw them. The poster describes the person they saw, the location and situation, and hopes the person sees the ad and responds.

That's two different answers. Anyone have a third?

Nuts is right. I think it's for people that were too shy to say anything in person and regret it. So they put the ad online somehow hoping that the other person felt the same way, looked it up on Craigslist, and sees the ad.

That is hilarious.

But I guess it's proof Walmart is god- whether you (or I) like it or not.

Well, they say, on any given Saturday here in SC when every college football team in the state is playing at home, that 10% of the state's entire population might be found at a football game.

Now think about who goes to football games ... mostly the pretty people. (Except for up in Knoxville of course.) But down here at Carolina, Clemson, The Citadel (where the C of C babes flock to), SC State, Newberry, Coastal Carolina, Furman and so on and so forth ... we're a small, football crazy state so it just makes sense that it would be a possibility.

I've always said that if you go around to football games in this state, and I hate to admit it but this even applies to the taterheads ... it's like a drunken beauty pageant. Put a large percentage of pretty drunk girls around a bunch of drunk men and I can only imagine the stuff that gets posted to Craig's List.
