Any old timers on here remember the class of 82 which produced "The Greatest That Never Was" and "The Greatest of All Time"? Just wanna know what (if anything) that was being said about these kids from Bama and Miss that year?

ETA: Obviously Bo ended up being the best, but you can't help but wonder what would have happened if Marcus would have either stayed at OU or went somewhere like Ole Miss, Bama etc... and played out his career

Dupree had more raw talent than Bo did as hard as that is to believe. Had he not lost his head I think he would have ended up being the greatest running back of all-time.

Dupree didn't even train or practice correctly or all the time. He wasn't even in shape half the time.

Watching some of the vids from Dupree makes me think he would've been the GOAT.

Dude was damn impressive on film. How many years did he play at Oklahoma? it was Oklahoma right?

He was overweight and out of shape when he ran for 230 yards in the fiesta bowl in one half. Bo couldn't do that if he tried.

Bo wasnt exactly known for his workout and practice ethics either.

Reality is most people are going to base their opinion of the two on what they've seen from two embelished documentaries made for entertainment purposes. Bo is still a household name and Dupree would have continued to fade into irrelevance had it not been for ESPN 30 for 30. I'm 42. I'm not basing my opinion on what ESPN told me it was like back in the day. I remember it myself. Bo over Dupree.
