2012's hottest true freshman, sammy watkins, suffered a pretty big sophomore-slump... it wouldn't surprise me if manziel did as well, but I'm more inclined to think he'll pick up right where he left off... the guy couldn't be defended by the end of last season.

He will not have the year he did last year. For several reasons.

We'll see what happens when he doesn't have first round picks blocking for him.

I'm thinking his numbers will drop off. But I'll be more inclined to make that prediction when the season gets closer. We'll see if he gets focused on ball or if he's still living a baller's life come time for the season.

he's still got at least one... and they have solid RBs, and probably the deepest WR core in the conference (or nation)... if he stays healthy, A&M will be dynamic again on offense.

Don't play dumb. I read those exact words on the SECR so many times. "I have a feeling Newton is gonna screw up off the field soon." Every one of the Aubies got all but hurt.

First of all, I wasn't here during the season.

And Cam Newton declared for the NFL draft after his Heisman trophy and national title season. Aside from the small window of the season (during which the players lead very structured lives), the danger of hubris, distraction, and infraction is much higher in the offseason.

We never had to see how post-Heisman Cam would conduct himself as an amateur and how it would impact Auburn. An experiment I would have LOVED to try, but one that we never did.

You sound like you're trying to make this into the Cam thing any way you can.

yeah, I don't know what that bozo in this thread is talking about. Cam had a damn bodyguard with him at all times during the season. Nobody was worried about him fricking up off the field.

Understatement. Can't wait to see Brandon Williams.

And like I said that time, if Cam can come to school and take real classes like an actual student, that acne ridden attention whore can too.

and you sound just as stupid as you did the first time.

not only is occasionally taking a full online class load becoming more common, the kid is already academically a junior. So he can afford to take it easy during a semester if he wants.

but hey, if you want to sound like a bitter punkass loser go ahead.

A&M isn't a slouch school. Shouldn't he be into his major (i.e. more difficult) classes by now? Unless he held off on bullshite classes like University Sem, Music appreciation and Spanish.

This. Not only are they first round picks. They're both possibly top ten picks. A very small number of teams can just reload like that. aTm isn't one of them.

He's a business major anyway. Unless he's mentally incapacitated he probably doesn't need real classes to pass the tests anyway

Leave JFF alone. He's been doing a term paper on pro basket ball.
And he also has one due on The Joys of Strange Trim.

Cam might be over the top on the field, but he wasn't out making appearances in clubs with felons in the off season either.

That's because he was too busy stealing laptops.

When does he turn in his paper on the benefits of Proactiv?

not mad, that was just straight calling it like I see it.

I wouldn't have a problem with any football player taking online classes b/c its not some special privilege that only they get the right to do.

dude has cried about Johnny's class load twice now.

and BTW, only one of the two departing o-linemen is going in the first. Matthews stayed and will move to LT and his little brother will take over at C for the departed Patrick Lewis (who wasn't invited to the combine).
