Calipari is the only coach in history to have Final Four appearances at two schools (UMass and Memphis) vacated by the NCAA for NCAA violations. Those are the only Final Four appearances any of his teams had before he got to Kentucky.

Okay? So explain the fact that he has had 18 straight 20 win seasons while being a "bad" coach? Surely all of those weren't vacated.

I don't think he is a bad coach but the system of bringing in one and doners is flawed IMO. Yes eventually you will get a team that will win big but the teams for the most part are undisciplined and not mature enough to compete against veteran teams.

What does that have to do with anything?

This year A10>>>>>SEC, so I don't get the conference comparison.

If you think a coach that took a team with 10 straight losing season to the NIT, regular season and tournament champions, NCAA final four 8 in years as subpar coaching then you are really dumb or desperately looking for attention.

I love that these people are ready to call the one and done philosophy as not a valid one when he's had ONE down season out of 4. How many coaches not running the one and done have reeled off an Elite Eight, a Final Four, a National Championship, and possibly another 20 win season in the same span?

I never said that he was a bad coach. I just don't think he is an elite coach. He is a decent coach but better recruiter. And it is not as if Kentucky ever needed help with recruiting. From the outside looking in, UK seemingly always does well regardless of who coaches there.

Unrustle jimmies.

Why do you think he is not a good college coach?

Every great coach, and I'm just being real, has the most talented players.

That's how you get to the Final Four.

You rarely see a coach cut down the nets with garbage players.

He may or may not be the best X's and O's coach, but he is an elite college coach.

He gets the best players. I wish he coached my school's team.

The basketball equivalent of Dennis Franchione at Bama. Everyone makes mistakes. But Rick and Tubby proved that Kentucky will always be a force to be reckoned with. Calipari is privileged to be UK's coach, not the contrary.

Largest loss as UK head coach was 17 last Tuesday vs the Gators.

New record just a few days later. Down 35 right now and he's still sitting down not giving a frick.

I agree, but I don't see how that's relevant to his coaching ability. I'd consider Pitino an elite coach (taken 3 programs to Final Fours) and Tubby is on the cusp with a NC and Minnesota playing very well right now.

Cal is still an elite coach. He compliments his deficiencies in X's and O's with recruiting. And his X's and O's deficiencies aren't nearly as bad as portrayed IMO.

Or he's trying to keep from getting tossed like his assistant did earlier in the game? You do know Doug Shows and him had it out earlier this season when he got T'd up.

But of course you don't. Because you're one of those football morons trying to to talk basketball.

Me, either, but it is bound to happen sooner or later.

By the by, did you mean to misspell "Jordan"?
