Coached 14 seasons, from 1949-1963, winning the SEC Regular Season Championship in 1960.

Went 213-100 (124-75) for an average of about a 15-7 record each year. (Not sure what the actual records were each season)

His first 2 seasons 8 teams were allowed in the Tourney, 3rd and 4th season 16 teams were allowed in, the rest of his tenure 22 to 25 teams got in. So how did we never make the tournament under him?

It's Jay Jacobs' fault.

back then, only the SEC champ made the NCAA tourney.

The NIT used to be a really big deal because if you lost your conference tourney in an upset, like USCe did around 1970 or so you would have a 22-1 team in NIT
