This might possibly be the worst college town list I've ever seen. The fact that you posted thinking people would take it seriously speaks to your ignorance. We are all now dumber for having read it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

any top 10 list that includes towns from Michigan and Indiana is not considered serious.

That list kinda sucks I can understand why Athens and Oxford is on the list, but Austin should be included.

Austin is a city, not a town. It lacks a college town feel. I mean shite, it's the capital of Texas.

Athens at 8 immediately invalidates the list. Also, how stupid is it to have a best college towns "of 2012" list, how is this list changing from year to year? Oh, well last year town X was ranked 10th but this year they got a new movie theater and another bar so now they're 7th. As a town you are what you are, you don't change in the damn rankings every 12 months.

Lawrence, KS at 5? frick you and this list. I've been to Kansas once......................once. NEVER AGAIN.

College station...lol. Those people have clearly never been to Athens. They probably just skimmed somebody else's top 10 list that had us at #1 and decided since they'd never been there to just put it towards the bottom.

List sucks.

Thank you. Just because there's a college there doesn't make it a "college town". Is atlanta a college town, nashville? Nobody is saying that those aren't cool places to be/spend time/hang out/maybe even live. But they aren't college towns. Athens, oxford, ttown, auburn, knoxville, etc are COLLEGE TOWNS.

My favorite part was when the author called Indiana a prestigious college.

The fact that Tuscaloosa isn't even on the list makes it a joke. Between the Strip and Downtown there are dozens of good bars and the food is actually pretty good if you don't live here. The gameday experience is one of the best in the SEC and country.

They probably deducted points for football players assaulting and robbing students.

Not the biggest fan of T-Town but it definitely deserves to be there ahead of some...

Bloomington, Indiana is a very nice place.

And no Tuscaloosa should not be on this list. Tuscaloosa really is not that great of a town/city.

Correct for the most part, but it's about 2 years away from initial planning before it's all over the place. The thing that really hurts Tuscaloosa is that a lot of the recreational activity is across the river in Northport.
