2 Florida

No other SEC schools on the "first 8 out" list. SEC so stacked.

Good. Fans should be focused on baseball anyway.

Well the other three schools currently in better watch themselves, or they'll be bubble-watching come March. But I agree, baseball is here

Would any of these teams, other than UF, even make the Tourney if they were in the Big 10?

As we speak the SEC is really down. Forget the Big 10, I'd be surprised how many SEC teams would do well in the Atlantic 10.

I doubt it.

I'm going to miss Al Bundy's post the week of the SEC tournament saying State is in and Stans should get one more chance.

I'm pretty sure that happened back in December when we lost to SOUTHERN at home.

Maybe, but a lot of ground could have been made up between then an tourney time. The close losses recently at home have not helped and we have ZERO signature wins. And no, Kentucky does not qualify as a signature win this year. Sorry wildkitties. We feel your pain.

I think the only team, not including those four, to get back in the conversation is Alabama. It's not happening, but considering they were in the mix before the loss last week @Auburn, if they finish strong and get a win @Florida ( ) they'd get back in the mix. I still think only 3 get in, I don't think Ole Miss holds on.

If Kennedy can't get in the big dance this year he should be fired.

Might want to rethink that one. Kentucky is now ranked in the top 25 and 18th in the RPI.

The year we were 8-8 in conference and made the dance (still the only team to do that in the history of the Big 12), we had close losses at home to Nebraska, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, and Baylor (5OT). Right now, we have home losses to Kentucky, Florida, Georgia, and Southern.

The main differences, however:

1. The 2007-2008 team was 14-1 in nonconference, with the only loss a close loss at Arizona. They won the preseason NIT by absolutely demolishing Washington and Ohio State in MSG.

2. The 2007-2008 team went 2-1 in the conference tournament. Realistically, the game that pushed us up to a 9 seed was the win over Michael Beasley and Kansas State.

Even if we were to somehow, someway, win out in conference, going 12-6, we would have to win at least two games in Nashville to even merit consideration for a 12 seed because of our horribly weak nonconference.

Meh. Down season. Next season we'll be the favorite to win it all again.

Mizzou needs to beat Florida at Mizzou Arena. If they can do that and somehow pick up 3 road wins. I think we can get to a 5 or 6 seed. If we get to that point we could end up playing our first and second round games in KCMO.

Yes.

Although they'd lose more games, their SOS's would be much better.
