I'm hearing that the place has a new owner and is going to re-open in March, and is supposed to be pretty badass.

Mugshots has their liquor license back, but refused to stay open after the restaurant closes, b/c the owners want it to be more family oriented.

I was told Staggerinn (former CDC) has lost their liquor license after becoming the "hot spot" on thursday nights in the Cotton District because of their 10 dollar all you can drink deal. Apparently the Starkville PD want to keep the town as little fun as possible, getting butthurt over underage college kids with fake IDs drinking (the horror).

Yea my parents actually almost bought the state theatre but when they met the chamber of commerce people they wanted no part in that backwoods BS. They were trying to do. My parents wanted to model it after the lyric in Oxford and make it the best place to go for shows and events in starkville

Law is the law. OPD is 10x worse than SPD will ever be but we still have a good time. Starkville has talent to be much more fun.

I think the Stagg's biggest issue was them just giving out a cup for the all you can drink. It could then be passed to anyone but you're ABC point still stands.

At this point I treat the state theatre being successful like us beating LSU. I'll believe it when I see it

It's the old Cotton District Cafe and located next door to Dan Camp's office.

I'm pretty sure the Stagger Inn is the old "The Grill"

What I wish would happen(but it would take many years) is for us to build up bars on University Drive immediately where campus ends.

Gilmer's house would be a good start, although I think Sam told me he was going to do apartments or Hotel.

It would be nice to see a row of bars/shops/restaurants all the way down to Bin 612.

ABC has absolutely ruined Starkville night life. Nobody goes out anymore except for the die hard partyers that are of age.

Hell there was a Swap the other day and the ABC came in and gave out MIPs to every underage person there. The cops come and break up every house party in the cotton district and highlands...it's gotten terrible.

+1000000000. I fricking hate those pigs. I wish it was like the old days where you could buy beer at a lot younger age.

that would be awesome I wish someone had the money to start doing that. I always said they should tear down that pos old gas station by drifters and build a big bar that had a really big deck. The cotton district IMO has very good potential

That's correct. It was The Grill, then CDC, and now StaggerIn.

That pos gas station happens to have an honest "shade tree mechanic" type in there. Dude does repairs for the cheap. Don't know if y'all noticed but Dan Camp bought from the old photography building to City Bagel & is building a bunch of apartments right now. The house on the other side of the Bagel is the owners but they rent it out. It's for sale too. Camp may be an a-hole but he's a smart a-hole. He's filling in the gaps on university

Yep and ethanol free gas. I like the place and it gives a good parking place for the bars at a night. It is an eyesore though I wouldn't complain if it was replace with a nice bar.

I asked about that lot before, they use it for that crawfish trailer in the spring...dunno why nothing has been built there maybe the owner won't sell.

Iv heard that someone is planning on making a big bar on that gas station. It may not be soon but supposedly it's coming. I say this bc I know who owns the building of the gas station.
