Batemen or Morris IMO..... I would imagine Sims will get a good amount of snaps at qb.

The Morris vs. Bateman competition will be interesting. Kinda like Sims vs. McCarron a few years ago.

I wish Cooper's first name was Patrick.

I would like to see Sims work on his pocket passing. If he can really concentrate on polishing his QB skills he could be a good solution if none of the other guys are ready.

There are too many great young receivers to trade passing skills for wildcat mobility.

Sims ability to throw the ball has kept him at QB all this time. He just isn't asked to pass in mop up duty.

If nothing else he could be a go to guy if whoever beats him out is having a complete failure during a game.

He's really not a good passer. When he has passed in mop up duty it looks like shite. If we ever NEED Sims to play qb for us then we are screwed

I guess we'll just disagree on that point.

I got enough of a viewing of him at the W Carolina game this year. An entire half of him actually getting to pass didn't exactly get me excited. I was there in person and saw receivers breaking open. He would float them or ground them. I'm cool with agreeing to disagree, but I just don't know of many Alabama fans who would be excited about going to battle with Sims as the general

I haven't been impressed by Sims's passing either. I hope he matures and steps up his pocket awareness, decision making, and passing skills this year but I highly doubt it will be enough to matter.

IMO Morris or Bateman will be "the man" in 2014 and I'm leaning more towards Bateman than Morris. But Morris will have a year advantage of being in the program so if the talent is even close I look for Morris to get it.

What QB "if any" transfers this year?

Ely will transfer.

Here's why I give the nod to Morris: He's big with a BIG arm. People have been very impressed with where he puts the ball on throws. Bateman put up better highschool stats, but Morris played big time Texas highschool football.

You get a lot of different opinions about our QB's because unless you get to watch practice it's really hard to say who looks good.

Sims passing skills looked good on a-day a few years ago. He was gonna be moved full time to tailback but his QB skills kept him where he is.

I've seen several post claim Morris has a weak arm. He's a strong kid but I haven't seen enough to tell.

Cooper Bateman could be Nussmeiers' favorite since he had more input in his recruiting, so he would probably be the frontrunner to take over if he can develop enough before AJ leaves.

I've never felt better about our current QB situation in a long long time.

Greg McElroy played against stronger competition in high school than A.J. McCarron did. Who's the better college QB?

Exactly. I would be shocked if Cooper isn't the qb in 2014...

Ely hasn't done well in anything. Why did we even give this guy a scholarship?
