Mullen is saying that his initial intent is to have Cox fill Banks' role at CB. Alot of talk that the other spot likely goes to Jiles, Nickoe to SS, and Will Redmond gets moved to FS. The first 2 I'm pretty sure about -- the second 2 are mostly speculation...

I would say Cox and Jiles are the projected starters

Our LB play concerns me a lot.

because as a whole they're not very good? Wells is undersized and cannot get off a block. Bohanna seems to be out of position fairly often and doesn't get off blocks. Skinner is OK but seems to disappear on plays. Hughes ever make a play? McKinney is a bright spot and even he is currently a B+ rated SEC type LB. He will grow in to a solid one though.

Richie Brown will be a starting LB for us this fall.

You are forgetting about the 2 4*s that we redshirted and bulked up this year. Both are 4.4-4.5 guys at 225-235lbs. Richie Brown will be better on day 1 than Cam Lawrence was on the day he left here IMO, at least athletically and in coverage... Also, Wilson's read and react scheme KILLED our linebacker production. Looked much, MUCH better in the bowl game with Collins calling plays and unleashing them a little bit. Our DL was so terrible that the OL was blocking into the second level quite a bit. I look for LB to be the overall strength of our team next year...

I know he was a big pickup for us last year, but I haven't heard much about him since he came to state. Can you give me an update how he has been doing since he came to state? Just interested in hearing what the coaches have to say about him and how he has developed.

I expect him to be starting by mid season for sure or b brown. But that should tell you something when you're starting RS Fresh at the LB spot.

I do agree with you about Wilson's assessment and hope that is the case. And I think LB position is about 2 years away.

What about Quadry Antoine? He looked like a stud in his high school highlights, he looked sort of like a Nikoe Whitley with better coverage skills.

I think we see Cox & Love or Jiles at CB. FS will be Jay Hughes & SS will be Nickoe. Our nickel DB will be who loses out in the Love/Jiles battle. Taveze Calhoun will also challenge for time at CB. If Redmond does in fact move, he will back up Hughes at FS. Dee Arrington will back up Nickoe at SS. I don't envision Quadry, Market, or Jackson getting too much pt outside of ST

Redmond will pass up Calhoun. Calhoun played out of position way too much. Not good at all!

Not if Redmond moves to FS as many have been hinting at. Either way, Calhoun is either our 4th or 5th CB which won't see much of the field. Even if Redmond is the backup FS, I could see him as our dime package DB over Calhoun.

If we move Redmond to F/S- then that means Cox will play one CB and Love/Jiles will fight for the other spot. Look for Calhoun to back up Cox Agree with Stoms- Hughes and Redmond will battle for the F/S position- Nickoe at SS...Arrington should be the back-up behind Whitley LB is a strength- not a weakness. Our lack of DL play with that read and react shite made them look worse than they are. I look for McKinney, Skinner, and Wells to start- with the Browns and Bohanna playing alot. Bundy I dont see Ritchie starting- Wells will be on the field somewhere- he has too much talent not to. Especially with some many 3-WR sets we face. R. Brown will be battling Skinner and McKinney for playing time- and we arent sitting either of those two.
