Is it a bad thing that I go all-in pulling for my in-state rival when they are playing you SOBs?

It is going to be a glorious day in early September when they kick your arse in Austin, thus removing ESPN's head from your arse early in the season, instead of(again) making us wait for RRR...

Looking back, I regret not making the trip to DKR in 92 to watch Sleepy Robinson make you quit...

Bring Texas into the conference and you'll love us.

Alabama fans are arrogant, entitled, annoying, condescending and obsessive over their program with its stack of championships.

Texas fans are arrogant, entitled, annoying, condescending and obsessive over a program with almost f*cking nothing. But since their universe ends at the Texas state lines, the longhorns seem like the greatest football team that ever existed.

Is the pact between schools(UF, USCe, uk etc.) to not allow other schools from that state in the SEC, is that real?

In a word, yes. Just ask Mike Slive. His first choice for the second school in the last expansion was not Mizzou. It was Florida State.

Except the rotating chairman at that time of the SEC's Board of Presidents...the guys who really run the SEC...was UF's president Bernie Machen.

Looking back, it's amazing now to see just how much anti-Seminole sentiment there was. UF had no problem getting UGA, USCe, and UK to adopt the "no second team in an existing SEC state" stance. Each school wanted to keep an in-state rival out of the conference.

The surprise was that both Auburn and Alabama were keen to keep FSU out as well. Both recruit Florida heavily, and wanted no additional problems from the Seminoles that being in the SEC would present.

So yes Virginia, there is both a Santa Claus and a Gentlemen's Agreement.

We just don't want FSU because that's a team with a pulse, and it might screw up our "weak schedule and hold on every play" approach to football that is working so well for us.

Just because you read something on hornfans about how the SEC would ejaculate all over themselves to have Texas join it's ranks. Doesn't make it the voice of the general population. I hear more from sooner fans wishing they took the offer instead of Mizzou. Currently Texas fans are more interested in getting rid of Ol underperforming Mack attack.

So we wouldn't want the #1 most valuable team in College Football in the SEC?

IMHO we're better off with A&M and, in fact, A&M will eventually put so much pressure on Texas that the horns will wilt compared to A&M.

Now, with that said, Texas had their chance and tried that prima donna shite of theirs and it is gonna backfire on them in the long run. But, but, if A&M has many more fans like that d-bag taterhead wannabe sheep humper TeLeFaWx, then I saw we dump A&M and invite Texas in their place. Because, honestly, TeLeFaWx is such a f-wad that he makes the whole A&M fanbase look so bad that it really makes you wonder if A&M fans are good SEC type people in the long run? I mean they have done an incredible amount of shite talking disrespectful things if you stop and think about it.

But anyways, the SEC will never field two schools in the same state other than Alabama. Not in Florida, Georgia or South Carolina and damn sure not in Texas.

Another thing. Texas would never submit to being part of a family of programs. They want to be queen of everything - they are just not a good fit for the SEC. But neither is UNC for the same reason. NC State and probably Va Tech, that's where we will expand when it happens.

DO NOT WANT TEXAS. I would prefer TCU over UTx. And that won't happen. They are the only team I want less than VA Tech

Actually, if you think about it, the SEC is better off with A&M. I never looked at it this way before:

In expanding, it doesn't help our existing teams to bring in someone and have them win the championships. It helps our existing teams to bring in someone and make money for the conference while weakening a major team outside our conference. Form this angle, A&M is serving the original SEC members much better than Texas ever could, as long as they aren't costing us a national championship by winning it themselves or eliminating our contender.

Meh. It isn't like Alabama hasn't been in a situation where they couldn't win the SEC, but found a way to manipulate the system and still claim a Natty. What. Has it been two or three times the REC did that?

Times change, currency changes, referees die, but Bama just keeps on winning.

There is a lot of Longhorn fear on this thread and on the rant in general

Fear of what? That you guys will call up Vince Young and sneak him into the lineup again? Texas is quickly becoming irrelevant on the national landscape.

frick Texas. Duke and UNC IMO. Let's run football and basketball. (obviously we have UK, but they aren't gonna win it all every year)

I'm with Cas. Let's bring in some basketball powers and make the other conferences squeal in that sport, too.

I have wanted UVA and either UNC/NCSU, but I could really get down with Duke and UNC. We would be the best in football, baseball, men's and women's basketball.

The self-absorption is strong in this one.
