So now that NSD is over, didnt want to get blasted for this before the ink was dry.

Ok, so the question is did we know about Quon last year before we offered AS? Did we use that to our advantage or was it just a big coincidence? Anyone know?

Standifer was a pretty highly regarded recruit. He had a large offer list and would have signed with Michigan or Notre Dame if he didn't have grade issues.

Treadwell really didn't blow up until this past season. I don't think anyone had him as a 5 star until near the end of his senior year.

Gotcha, yeah I went back and looked at his offer list and it was pretty lengthy and I do remember him being a late addition, figured it might have something to do with grades. Wasn't sure if Quon was known to be a big recruit at the time yet or not.

Yeah Standifer is a long DB that will definitely be in the rotation this year.

Best part is I think their HS team has another player for 2014 that is pretty good. I think he plays LB.

Nope. He played. He was injured some of the season. When he played he got burned alot. The Texas game he was getting picked on. He wasnt out of position though, just couldnt find the ball. He will give us some quality minutes next year. He and Brassell are some taller DBs.

I don't even think it was his grades that were the problem. I think he was just missing one class he needed to sign with Michigan, similar to the deal between Hooks and Auburn this year.

You're probably right. I was just making an assumption because I knew it was related to academics.

The CB position is so much better off now.

Senquez Golson- Junior
Charles Sawyer-Senior
Hopefully Nick Brassell-Junior
Mike Hilton-Soph.
Dehendret Collins-Senior
Anthony Standifer-Soph.
Cliff Coleman-Junior???
David Kamara-true freshmen
Bobby Hill-true freshmen(could play safety)
I wanna say Covington played some last year as well and he will be a senior.

I think Brazley could play CB as well.

Also Q Mireles may get moved to defense, according to what Freeze said in his presser.

That's right. It will still be nice having 3 good/experienced CB's next year. Then add TC at Husky and we should be able to lock down some teams. Especially if we are getting pressure from the DLine.

I'm ready for the rematch against Texas so we can make up for the embarrassment we had last year

Same here man. Texas game was a fluke. I watched Texas for the rest of the year and... man it looked like they regressed. I think we own that arse in Austin this upcoming season. I have no reason to expect otherwise after I saw how porous they played.

We needed CB's desperately at the time, according to that SI article. Standifer was lost in the shuffle between Michigan and ND, and we made a push.
