I didn't sit as close to the court as I would have liked so Grant got no pep talk from me. What a terrible finish but at least we won.
Bring a sign that says "pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, shoot" on it to the next game. That should get the point across.

I thought in the first half there was a lot more ball movement and a lot more movement on general on offense. I was rather pleased. That disappeared in the second half though. How about Jacobs becoming our most reliable free throw shooter?

For the first few possessions we had nice ball movement and what looked like an actual well constructed offense going. Then we went back to holding the ball. I don't quite understand it. Burning clock every possession is decent strategy (maybe not to the extent we do)when you are playing an elite level team that is clearly more talented than your team, but why use that strategy against teams that you know you are better than?

I'm not sure it's ever a good strategy, but you're certainly right against a team like LSU

Not the way we run it, but if you are playing a team clearly superior on offense it makes sense to try and slow the game down a little with your half-court offense and limit the other team's FG attempts. Keeps the game closer and keeps your team within striking distance if your team can get a run going in the 2nd half, and it has the reverse effect when playing against teams clearly less talented on offense. Our offense tries to get the shot clock down under 10 seconds and relies on ISO or pick and rolls (pretty much just picks) to get us a shot off, when IMO you should wait until around 15 seconds on the shot clock and run a base-play that has 3 or 4 twists you can choose from each possession.
BTW that doesn't mean you should slow the ball down when you have numbers on a fast break, which irks the hell out of me when we do it. That rarely makes sense.

I have noticed this too. Unless it is 2 or 3 on 1 we always slow it down. We have absolutely no idea how to win a transition possession in a 3 on 2 or 4/5 on 3 situation.

We always slow it down except last night when we're up 7 with about 2:30 to play. Then we throw up the first shot available in transition instead of burning clock

Couldn't believe Steele shot that transition 3. You have to be smarter than that. Your not even a halfway decent 3 point shooter. I swear he hit those 3 against Vandy and suddenly he thinks he's Larry Bird.

I've noticed that too. He's been throwing them up a lot since that game and hasn't been making them.
I started a thread about how important Steele is a few weeks ago because usually he either gives us good rebounds or he creates offense for others. If nothing else, he was a good defender and took care of the ball, i.e. high bball IQ. Lately, he's been making turrible decisions and I no longer want him on the floor late in a close game.

He really hasn't looked great the past couple that's for sure.

Yea, I agree if we are going to pay 2 million plus per year we need to have a coach that can at least lead the team to a 60 point a game average.
The sad thing is if we had beat Mercer and Tulane we would be 17-6 just inexcusable to lose those 2 games.

He went full retard. I think that's the first time I've ever been legitimately pissed at him other then when he got suspended for a game. My brother and I think he just blacks out for a couple seconds when he does shite like that from all the concussions he's had

4 straight wins since the disaster in Auburn and this thread got started.

Not really.
We are still lacking in a few areas that we shouldn't be.

We are second in the SEC not because of our own abilities, but the overall level of suck in the conference.
